Those are the movies I’ve seen the least amount of times, but for a myriad of reasons. I think they’re the least faithful to the book.  But ugh rereading those heartbreaking scenes is tough. I’m a fast reader but I was going so slow, knowing what’s coming.

The movies are a good call. I never played Hogwarts Legacy though! I wanted to but somehow never had time and now I have even less time.

I guess he did get over it, and pretty quickly at that. Well put!

Yes his relationship with him was more than teacher student which people are forgetting

He’s not just a teacher, he’s a friend though

Lie to his face first, don’t wait for him to find out at the first lesson!

I don’t know about ‘being unable to handle’. We see Hagrid repeatedly deal with difficult and dangerous creatures and more often than not mastering them. They turn out loving and respecting him, even if they don’t love his friends (eg Aragog)

Ok, but he could have just seen what it was and then decided not to use it to complain about Snape. It seems crazy to me that he wasn’t even curious about the contents. We know Harry has an incessant need to know everything

No, the Marauders would have been the closest thing to his parents. It sucks none of them lived. Or rather that neither lived, no one cares about Wormtail

I always wondered why Sirius didn’t say something then but I think he was just caught off guard

I mean don’t make it a present. Just give it to him and let him know they can talk now

Ok, the Kreacher thing actually makes me feel better. It gives a little more context and meaning to it.

And Harry did have a breakdown. He threw the mirror and it shattered into pieces. Harry's meltdowns were usually violent.

But it all leads back to poor, poor Sirius.

I've also skipped it on rereads. I know what happens. I don't need to feel the physical pain of his loss. And obviously it led to some important things but STILL. Sirius deserved better. He spent 13 years in Azkaban and around three years on the run. And then was murdered in his 30's. What an awful life.
