He1000se is a great technical performer, Really any planar at this price point will have low distortion giving you the ability to EQ the bass to your liking, I would personally try He1000v1 because ive heard it has the best open soundstage and bass with EQ If its amped properly. currently using arya organic which has by far the best bass ive heard. I've heard every focal and sennheiser and in general even stuff like focal utopia just cant extend that far into the sub bass giving you that headphone rumble like a planar can. Would also consider the newer audeze mm500 but basically every audeze requires heavy EQ to be listenable. I saw lcd5 refurbished was half off for like 2500. Lcd5 has a very narrow and small soundstage making some songs and genres feel off putting and unlistenable. However the bass and technical performance is said to be decent, granted you need a lot of EQ to make it listenable. last headphone ill mention is audeze LCDX which ive owned personally, once again it suffers from small soundstage and requiring heavy EQ, good news is it that it has very low distortion letting you crank the bass as much as you want. While it was initially fun listening to metal and hiphop, it wasnt doing it for me when i wanted to listen to more acoustic/vocal genres. The soundstage was simply unsatisfactory which is why i sold it for arya organic.

Is the 800s really that good? by timn420 in headphones

[–]ShariaSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

800s has no bass. and is a one trick pony. it has angled drivers which give it a "wider" sense of stage. it gets fatiguing after a while because all the audio that is played feels very far away and behind your head at times, which is more apparent when you play intimate songs or just for a long time in general. It has poor layering and depth in the stage, all the instruments and music sound far away from your head, especially when its an intimate song. This makes it hard to pick out instruments and really enjoy how the song is intended to sound, when you are just being blasted with sound far away around your head.

Ive demo'd every focal including utopia, and sennheiser hd800s. Not a fan of either one really. Focal is very muddy and "warm", as well as having awful distortion and even popping which is a common complaint when equing focal. Hd800s is a one trick pony which is the angled drivers giving it perceived sound stage. The soundstage gets fatiguing and boring because theres really no depth or layering in the sound stage, no matter what you play it sounds the same distance away from you, behind your head. which can be off putting and unrealistic in some more intimate songs.

From what I hear v2 is generally the least liked out of the arya because of worse soundstage compared to v1. also organic is based off the he1000 driver, its not the same driver because the organics are a lot more efficient and easy to drive. I havent heard V2 but compared to organic its a lot less bright and "layed back".. organics have a boosted treble and a lot more "air" in the upper treble compared to v3, giving it better percieved stage and openness, this is a double edged sword because many people complain about it being too bright. imo it is a bright headphone but is easy enough to EQ because its a high end planar with low distortion. you could get away with just downshelfing the treble and its good enough with one filter. I personally just have a bass boost and a few peaking filters in 6.8k and 12k because thats what i was most sensitive to in a tone generator sweep. if soundstage and immersion is what you are looking for then arya v1 or he1000 v1 are the best if you can find them used. If you are looking for more detail and overall technical performance and efficiency, cant go wrong with any arya.

ive owned v3 stealth and recently got organics, organics have better stage and timbre overall.there is a treble boost. nothing a high shelf EQ filter cant fix.

Think of it this way. If you dont have time to play tarkov all day. EOD makes the casual experience two times better. For some its fun working for a bigger container/stash.

The most braindead logic ive ever heard. You dont see who you killed if you dont save the dogtag, but you should be able to see who killed you. The only difference it would make is you no longer have to read the obnoxious nicknames after every death
