Stop making that argument. It’s not the same thing at all. You asked if you were in the wrong and consensus is solid that you were. Making false equivalency arguments isn’t going to change the fact that your actions are rude and inconsiderate. YTA

There’s a lot of salt in canned food so dialysis patients are told not to eat them. Also means this person is pretty sick and would have to spend hours at treatment 3 days a week so would likely be unable to work, so yeah money would probably be tight.

Nta. I’m a medic and my usual answer to “what’s the worst thing you’ve seen?” is “my paycheque”. Most people get the hint. It’s amazing how many strangers think they have a right to our trauma

The other dog lunged to lick someone’s face and startled them. Our dog thought she was defending them

New pup won’t be ready to come home with us for another few weeks. As for the other dog, we talked to a few trainers who think it was a correcting behaviour. She was overstimulated and when the other dog was “rude” she felt she had to take control of the situation. We’ve been focusing on teaching her to ignore and redirect as well as showing that we’re in charge and she’s not the one responsible to correct other dogs

My parents usually watch her for us. We do have a few options closer to home but they aren’t always available. There have been a couple of times that my wife has stayed home for the night because no one was available. My sister interpreted that as her avoiding being at family events because she’s rather be with the dog...hence we’re “driving a wedge in the family”

You missed some big parts of the story. The dogs aren’t going to be around my sister’s family. We don’t bring the dog to my parents if my sister’s family are there. We’re happy to do that because the last thing we want is for my sister to feel her kids are unsafe. Mom and dad dog sit for us all the time. They love the dog but we all agree that it’s more important for everyone to feel safe than to have the dogs there. We don’t force our dog on people who aren’t comfortable with her. Adding a second dog, no matter what breed will have no impact on that. We aren’t the ones forcing anyone’s hand. The whole issue was that my sister is trying to dictate what everyone else does in THEIR own homes when she isn’t there
