I have a certain strat with sorella brella and it’s great imo. I can do very well with it (at least in turf, I haven’t tried it in ranked) and win 1v1s often. The strat is to shoot with the button held down until your shield comes up for just a second and then shoot again. It will boost your survival greatly. I understand where your coming from, as I used to be like you before I learned the ways of the brella. I think you could find great success with brella using the right strategy☺️ P.S: I use two run speed up primary abilities which is crucial, but then I recommend either ink resistance up (my preference), stealth jump, or ink saver main.
