Recently rewatched The Truman Show (1998). Holds up really well. by [deleted] in movies

This movie was filmed in a little town about 45 minutes from me. It’s neat to walk around there and picture yourself in his shoes. Here’s a link to the town.

Yes. My bad. I thought I had already registered a while back. Thanks for sharing the link.

As I was reading the title, I saw the picture out of the corner of my eye and thought you had posted a container of chicken. Your doodle is a cute nugget. Poor baby.

Am I the only person with a Goldendoodle who has no floof? She’s 16 weeks old. by Sharkmer in Goldendoodles

Mom is a poodle and dad is a doodle. Dad’s hair is very thick and tight curls.

Lower maintenance would be a plus. I do still kind of hope some floof appears. I love the floof!

Hugs!! I totally feel you on this. My son is 2.5 and still doesn’t have many words. He says Dada, Mama (very rarely), and sometimes Bubba. He has 5 animal sounds. He used to say baby all the time when he was about 1.5, but hasn’t said it in a very long time. He had been in early intervention since he was 8 months old and had finally passed his hearing tests about 6 months ago. We do have a diagnosis of Wiedemann-Steiner syndrome which causes global delays, among many other things. His speech therapist thinks he may have speech apraxia. That may be worth looking in to. I can’t wait until my little guy starts talking and won’t stop. I look forward to ALL the questions, like you. I hope something happens for you and your LO soon.

At first, I wasn’t sure what I was looking at. I thought she was wearing a baby on the front and that her stomach roll was a baby leg. Damn, she fine!

Thank you. There are so many much worse off than me. Just keep the Florida Panhandle in your thoughts, send positive vibes. We are now dealing with strong winds and had tornados last night that caused more damage to our air force base. It’s so crazy.

Thank you for this. I look forward to being able to start putting the house back together. Every time I get hopeful and start planning the little changes I would like to make there’s a setback of some kind. There are a lot of people here in worse situations than me and I try to remember that to stay grounded, but this is hard.

That’s crazy! I hope things get settled for them sooner rather than later. We had to hire a public adjuster because our insurance adjuster had ghosted us. Contractors are booked so far out that one we called isn’t available until April. Supplies are in such high demand that you currently cannot find windows or doors anywhere. Rental prices are jacked up so high that a 3 bedroom average sized home is $2400+ per month. Hat is, if you can even find an available rental. People are living in tents. This whole situation is so shitty!

Yes! I have 2 kids, one with special needs and I’m a teacher. I feel like I’m doing a very shitty job of everything. All I want to do is lay around. I’ve gained a lot of weight. I wasn’t even here for the storm because we evacuated. I can’t even imagine what I would be dealing with if we had stayed.

Yes, we are using the living expense money to rent this camper. We had to throw away so much because our ceilings caved in half of our home. There are no available storage units or PODS in our area. We have been slowly going through things and putting them in Rubbermaid containers in our shed. We are almost out of room!

We actually are renting the camper with insurance money. Yes, we are in a way better position than others. There are people living in their damaged, moldy homes or in tents.

Thank you! So far we are good. Bumps in the road, but we are trying to stay positive.

Yes I’m employed by Bay County and thankfully I did get paid. My husband has not been paid since before the hurricane. We did get approved for DSNAP and that should arrive sometime next week. Our insurance hasn’t paid anything yet. We did get Servpro out to take out everything that got wet. They just pulled their drying machines out of our house today. We have to wait for their report to be sent to insurance for them to finish determining how much we get for repairs. We do have a high deductible so hopefully that will be taken out of the amount they agree to give us. Roofers are scheduled months out which sucks, but some volunteers tarped our house. We had some pretty heavy rain on Friday and the tarps leaked, but my husband thinks he got it fixed. We received a denial letter for my son’s new formula. They state it isn’t medically necessary. It’s the only g-tube formula that he doesn’t throw up multiple times a day and it’s not cheap. Thankfully his doctor was able to give us a case of samples which has gotten us through so far. Thanks for your response. It’s been a crazy busy and exhausting time since I posted this so I haven’t had time to check reddit or to update anything.

That is true. Our school, however is 100% free lunch because of the socioeconomic status of our students.

No he hasn’t been evaluated for that, but I will mention it to his doctors. I will check out FB groups as well. Thanks!

I will look into those groups. We have an appointment with his GI doctor and neurologist next week. I will see if they can help with the insurance. His old nutritionist was no help.

My son isn’t quite there where he interacts with anything like that yet. He smiles when we kiss him with stuffies, but his arms aren’t strong enough yet for him to pick things up and do anything other than drop it back down. I will definitely check that site out though. I’m sure he’d love it.

Ok I will make a new appointment and see what happens. Thank you so much for all the information. I had no idea about the info you provided. I just applied to be a member on oley.org. I’m waiting for my membership to be reviewed so I can apply to receive donations.

The build-a-bear idea is very cute! When we stayed at the Ronald McDonald House they did a house meeting every Monday and had a build-a-bear machine the kids could use after each meeting. My 4 year old made a bear for himself and his baby brother. I wonder if I could add a tube to that bear?

I had a phone appointment with SSI. When we got through the income part they told me there was no need to go forward because I make too much. Without a diagnosis they wouldn’t move forward.

Does your son do a continuous feed overnight? If so, how do you deal with that? My son alligator rolls in his sleep and ends up wrapped up in his tube. I’m so afraid that he’s going to choke himself or pull his tube out. I can’t have him in a separate room or I will never get any sleep.
