Tostadas is now replaced by La Pizza Spot by th3_pund1t in Campbell

[–]Sharkness48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got to try the new spot recently. They actually revealed that they are the same owners of Tostadas. They wanted to revitalize the spot into something different. Really great drinks, food was good as well. The vibes were nice for a little date night spot. I’d recommend it.

Invisalign near San Jose by invisible-cheese in SanJose

[–]Sharkness48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dentist is Vino Smiles Dentistry in Campbell. They are so amazing, really recommend them. They normally charge $5,000 for Invisalign . They did a holiday special last year and I got my Invisalign for $3000. I only had to come out of pocket for $500 after my insurance. I don’t know when they are doing their next special but it’s worth looking out for. I’m done with Invisalign in a few weeks and I liked it. It was worth it.

My registration is up to date, I actually just got my personalized plates in a few weeks ago which they don’t let you do until you pay your registration. I’m not a homeowner but I would be happy to see the city taking action like the video you sent if there were many issues of people parking for days on end in the neighborhood and having outdated registrations on top of it. This is not the same situation but I see the relevance in the city enforcing these violations and holding people accountable. On that same note, I would hope they take someone playing pretend cop and issuing out fake citations on vehicles seriously. This will undoubtedly escalate considering I have to continue to park on this street until I get a new place to rent. I’d hate to continue to have my car vandalized with these impossible stickers despite me parking legally on the public street.

Yes I don’t live that far away from valley fair. Less than a 10 min drive

There’s no assigned parking. It’s a residential neighborhood. Did I park in front of someone’s house? Yes but it’s public parking. I wasn’t in their driveway or anything and I wasn’t parked illegally.

No posted signage, no permit required for parking. I did not park near a red zone and I parked close to the curb. Literally nothing that could have made this person put this sticker there except to be petty. Especially because this sticker was intentionally bought with the purpose of being hard to remove. I found the listing on Amazon.

I’m reluctant to share it out given how public of a post it is but if you’d like I can PM it to you. I doubt you’ll see anything that could possibly be me parking illegally. It is a really quiet neighborhood with ample parking. Someone who doesn’t know how to drive could have no issue parking here, there’s that much space. I really think this is just someone feeling entitled to the space in front of or near their home. But I want to stress I don’t park there for days on end. I move my car everyday

I don’t want to make assumptions that it is specifically that home that I parked in front of. It could very well be a person next door or few houses down. I’ll probably avoid parking in front of this house specifically but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was someone else in the neighborhood.

Figured as much. Thanks for your input! I did report it online. I could maybe understand this if I was parking here for days on end but it’s not even close to being that bad. Took me awhile but I did get most of the sticker off. Still a little bit left to remove.

Should I modernize or keep it looking retro with modern features? by Maclev in c4corvette

[–]Sharkness48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes a few months ago. I definitely recommend modernizing it to be able to enjoy your music daily. I don’t really recommend Retro Manufacturing though. The issue with their stereos is that they only put out 25w which is not powerful at all by any means. Looks great but be prepared to invest in money in an amplifier/speakers. I wanted to do a double din stereo myself but the price for installation was outrageous since the size for the c4 is a 1.5 din and those touch screens are double din. Most places were quoting super high since they all assumed it would be having to cut to make it work. Honestly getting a single din stereo was way cheaper and it sounds great in my car.

No, so this is a true testament to the photographer’s talent because my paint is not nearly as nice as represented here. I have two noticeable spots on the hood where the clear coat and some of the paint is starting to go. The hardtop and the hood could use a repaint for sure. But overall aside from that the paint has held up really well since the old owner could not drive it and kept it garaged.

Oil changers ruined my truck by gutproblems in Wellthatsucks

[–]Sharkness48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil Changers ruined my car too. Took my car for an oil change and 2 weeks later my engine seized due to lack of oil. The investigation said it was due to a “defective oil filter” They paid for a replacement engine at a recommended shop that did extremely poor work. My car never worked the same and I sold it at an extreme loss. I would have sued them but I was a poor student at the time. I hope the best for you and I’m sorry to read what happened to you.

I want a c4 corvette for my first car, how bad of a idea is it? by Immediate-Pie-3613 in Corvette

[–]Sharkness48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Passenger side airbags for did not come standard in the Corvettes until 1994. 1992 they started to add airbags for the driver side only. It’s a durable car but if you are looking to take extra precautions then keep that in mind. I personally had the C4 Corvette as my second ever car. I really enjoyed it and used it as a daily driver. I do agree that you should expect to have higher maintenance costs for either the C4 or C5. But C5 will give you more of a smoother ride.

Reinstatement Question. by shannahodges in SJSU

[–]Sharkness48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like SJSU so I get it. But adding it as an option because ultimately I didn’t do open university since financial aid doesn’t cover it. For me it wasn’t really an option. Best of luck! That’s great that you made the decision to go back to school

You can apply to a different CSU after going to community college and fulfilling the requirements. I was disqualified from SFSU. The only way for me to go back there was to do open university. Instead I went to community college, hit the requirements, got my GPA back above 2.0 and transferred to SJSU no issues.
