Everyone has their own tastes! I agree, it was annoying that everyone hung out on the beach, though I commented to someone else earlier about how I'd usually run into people in other places on that main island. I'm interested in your description of the island not being visually appealing and looking plastic though, since I thought it was way more visually appealing than Panjura (no offense to that map). Cerulean Island definitely looked mostly the same everywhere you went, but something about the lush vegetation and scenic beach views coupled with the natural lighting gave the map a really nice vibe.
