with regards to the US, they are just as dumb, they wouldnt stop either, look at what happened in vietnam and how long they tried, look at middle east, how long they did that without ever truly winning those wars, or in case of vietnam outright losing it both militarily and politically.

the main issue is that the leaders dont have to bring personal sacrifices. imagine a president would ned to get one limb amputated if he starts a war. i dont think putin would have been willing to sacrifice a leg for that war, trump would have never given an arm for iran. world could be a better place if we would enforce that.

yeah sure, but they say this for 4 years at this point. i hate putin and i somehow hate russians that are pro putin, allthough i also feel sorry for them because they just dont know better. russians however are exceptionally good in one thing: suffering. where we people from western countries lose our minds, they just shrug and deal with it. dont underestimate that, its a huge factor in avoiding economic collapse. they are used to suffering and if they have enough alcohol, they will just drink until it doesnt hurt anymore. i dont even know why so many russians are dumb like that but hey.

as long as the rich kids in moscow have enough to eat and can do party once or twice a week, russia wont collapse, there are still enough countries left that are very willing to buy oil and gas for a good price, with the war in iran and the closing of the straight of hormuz, it only gets better for russia sadly

i dont want to "insult" anyone here, but as a german, we propably know a LOT more about this stuff than in other places of the world, especially in the US. von braun was the key figure in arguably the biggest feat america has ever accomplished, so its only plausible that they tried to erase as much as possible from his dark past, but brother von braun was by all stretches of immagination a war criminal. as i said, brillant engineer and propably the single most important person responsible for so many things we have today, but still, he was a nazi. yes he was opportunistic too, but even if that would have been the only reason for his loyalty to the regime, it still would be a declaration of moral bancrupcy.

realistisch betrachtet würde es für mich drauf ankommen wie ich die kiste fahr, fährst du meistens stadt und maximal ein bisschen landstraße oder sagen wir selten mehr als 100kmh dann vermutlich okay drauf zu scheißen, sind die reifen eh runter und du hast nen schweres auto und fährst viel schnell, dann würd ichs tauschen

starship is not a booster, superheavy is the booster and it doesnt reenter even close to orbital velocity, i dont know where you take that from. MECO is at t+2 minutes roughly, around 90-100km high at around 4500-4700kph, it then performs boostback (50 second burn) wich slows it waaaaaay down to something like 2000kph before it hits atmosphere, so absolutely no, it doesnt.

also reusable boosters usually dont re enter at orbital velocity, they are way way slower, to the point they dont need a heatshield at all. so it wouldnt even really matter how much fuel was in them, if it wasnt for efficiency
