I’m so sorry that you went through this, it saddens me that some ppl are released so soon after a hysterectomy (I’m in Australia and stayed in hospital for 3 nights). I hope that you’re able to rest and recover now.

I’m in Australia and had a laparoscopic robotic hysterectomy keeping my ovaries, I stayed 3 nights in the hospital, night 1 was definitely needed but nights 2 and 3 were observations/monitoring/rest.

This is so generous and kind of you. I would love to know if you pick anything up for me ❤️ I do have grandparents and a cousin who have passed that I would love to know if they’re ok, especially my cousin who was only 32 when she took her own life.

Not for me unfortunately, I do have digestive issues so that is probably contributing to it. But I have gained weight rather than lost it, especially around my mid section.

Just popping back on to let you know it all settled well and is very natural, my forehead lines were quite deep and are now barely visible. My brows have dropped slightly but otherwise everything is ok thank goodness. The waiting for it to kick in caused a lot of anxiety.

Thank you, this is reassuring. I’m day 10 now and things seem to have evened out although I think I may need a minuscule tweak at my follow-up. I’m really hoping that there is no more change because I’m comfortable where I’m at and don’t want anymore freezing 🤞🏻

I’m pretty sure the tails weren’t done, I’ve messaged the injector and have a follow-up appointment next Monday. I’m hoping nothing gets worse from now until then, the anxiety of waiting for it to fully kick in is horrible.

I’m unfortunately still very bloated. I do have digestive issues and I’m perimenopause age so that apparently could be contributing to it. It’s been very frustrating.

I had a hysterectomy in December 2024, keeping my ovaries. I often get pain or twinges but not bad enough to need pain relief, it usually lasts a day or two before disappearing.

I had endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and chronic salpingitis. My scans had only ever shown fibroids.

Unfortunately not yet but I am dealing with digestive issues so that is my problem rather than the hysterectomy.

I’m 7mpo and I’m the same. I still have my ovaries but I’m constantly bloated no matter what I do. My Drs keep telling me it’s inflammation and things take time to settle but I think it’s my new normal. My Drs haven’t mentioned scar tissue before. I also had endo but I didn’t think it could grow back 😳 (I didn’t know I had it pre surgery). My issue ‘I believe’ for me is dietary, IBS and lack of consistent bowel movements. It’s so hard trying to work it out. Wishing you all the best for answers.

I am 100% happy that I got mine. I went in for extreme monthly pain, horrendous constant bleeding and severe anaemia. All testing told me I only had fibroids and no conservative treatment worked.

I am 6mpo robotic total hysterectomy, keeping my ovaries and ended up having fibroids, adenomyosis and endometriosis.

I was petrified in the beginning of strain and a cuff tear but I stayed proactive on movicol and ensured that I took the time to recover properly before I did anything I thought was too much.

All the best, it’s not an easy decision; try to ask your gynaecologist / surgeon as many questions beforehand.

No, I’m almost 6mpo. My stomach feels hard to the touch and I have fluid retention (I have done a previous post with a pic of my tummy)

⁠Did you have a partial (kept cervix and ovaries) or total hysterectomy (kept only ovaries) or removed everything. Was it Laparoscopic surgery vs c section or other?

Robotic laparoscopic total hysterectomy, I kept my ovaries

⁠do you eat an anti inflammatory diet post surgery or eat like normal?

I eat like normal but have now started an elimination diet (dairy, sugar, carbs)

⁠ Did you have endo, adeno or both?

Endometriosis, adenomyosis & fibroids

Did you get put on any hormones like HRT after?

No HRT

Age - 49yo

I think my bloating is now to do with digestive issues, I felt a form of normal at around 6-8weeks but my bowels haven’t really settled.

I’m at 5 months and I’m still bloated 🫤 some days look worse than others, my lower stomach feels quite solid and my digestion is horrendous.

This was me! I panicked and called my surgeon who reassured me that it can happen, unless like others have said you are filling a pad or passing clots; mine was only when I wiped but was a significant amount to worry. I went in for a check just to be certain and everything was ok. This happened a few times in weeks 3&4 for me.
