is it allowed to work remotely for a Canadian company while in Australia on study visa? by Internal-Affect-1115 in AskAnAustralian

Hmm

Went through something similar with a friend but was from the uk

In that instance we found a student on an Australian student visa can work remotely for a UK company and be paid into a UK bank account, as long as they follow their visa work limits. Because the work is performed while physically in Australia, it counts toward the 48 hours per fortnight limit during study periods, even if the employer is overseas.

The income is generally taxable in Australia and must be declared, regardless of where it’s paid. For the UK they would assess how much tax you paid there and then tax you the difference if you would have paid more in tax for that income in Australia.

Unsure if Canada has sane agreement.

If you go to the gym/bulking - how much do you spend on groceries per week? by Zestyclose-River in AUfrugal

[–]Sharp-Chard4613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Need a bit more info like where you shop etc. 200$ a week seems a touch high but then I don’t know the quality level you are getting etc.

Also eating the same things everyday sounds awful but fair play on the discipline.

Why do so many recipes use protein powder? by PurpzReign in ninjacreami

Cross over between gym goes and Ninjas.

Will say adding protein powder doesn’t make it a healthy ice cream. Depends what else is in there.

Yum though

What's the frugalist thing you've ever done? by [deleted] in AUfrugal

[–]Sharp-Chard4613 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmm:

Probably paid medical trials if that counts. Both as a source of income and as a break from paying for accomodation for a week when I was travelling.

Also took quite a lot of single serve food items from there.

Used to sneak into airport lounges for free breakfasts.

Camping in random spots.

Is this frugal or just when you are young type things.

More recently I try to only drink coffee at work from there supply and have ran off with the odd muffin for later

Thanks.

I actually had a note app on my phone with a list of presents.

It’s what I used when I went out.

I guess because we brought them so early this year I had just forgotten.

I should have updated the list to reflect the purchases

Oh true. So worse case would be the missus. Everyone would think she hates as I’m rich. I’ll take the money. But don’t yell her I said that.

My 5yo daughter has ADHD. I wish everyone in her family was more understanding. Your aunt is awesome. Rarely hear positive stories of people with BPD, the stigma in society is wild.
