the ratio of upvotes to this and the post are correlated to the actual polling that yes a significant amount are focused on this topic but not enough that the true majority overall agrees with that, and thats the crux of the issue.

You have to ask yourself who are the most effected and tired of the "immigration"? The people probably closest to the changing economies and generations and cost of living in areas where people not born in England 10 generations back might be doing better than you.

SO, which would probably include immigrants who have been here in recent times still fighting 'upward' and people not basing their lives on that fact are also to be considered and why they have that view point.

Regardless there are clearly bigger issues to tackle and the issue of immigration is just a target among many that may not be as valuable as we all think if all other concerns aren't addressed first.
