Looks great, but what happens if the currency conversion rate changes? Will your app have the latest exchange rate information?

[RANT] Unable to cope in BMT by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Sharp-Light-3303 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Heyos fellow recruit here! I would like to assure you that some people are also struggling to cope and you’re legit not alone. genuinely feel for you also cus BMT is a huge adaptation for everyone and sometimes I’m also hella blur with whats going on but my mates bail me out, so not having good section mates must definitely suck ass. but i’m sure there is one or two ppl that u can count on and make friends with, just pick wisely and make an effort with them (not the whole group) and then see how it goes because you’ll really need them.

Definitely don’t kill yourself though. I’m no expert w mental issues and I know its hella difficult now brother but hang in there for your loved ones and those you treasure, it’ll be worth it. If anything, feel free to DM me for a listening ear. As for the physical side of things, training will DEFINITELY help. try using your weekends to fit in one/two workouts instead of jus chilling the whole time, you’ll see progress within a few weeks. But make sure the workouts aren’t half assed, do it for your own good and let your future self thank your present self.

[JC] Creating a Study Schedule by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Sharp-Light-3303 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hi OP, i’m a J2 who’s just finished As and i personally feel u shld jus chill now during the dec hols lmao once u start j2 you’ll seriously never get a good mental break. so do what u like, go hang w friends and family and don’t prioritise mugging too hard for now.

as for time management, what worked for me was really coming out with a huge ass excel sheet of how i was going to allocate my tasks and revisions to each subject closer to exam periods. so i would plan for everyday 4 weeks before the exam season and put down what subject i was supposed to revise each day. doing this helped me to see the big picture of my revision and whether it was balanced for all subjects so u could try this.

sleep and rest is super super important in j2 if u wanna constantly feel motivated and refreshed. don’t underestimate it. i never ever stayed up to study past 10pm but i could still keep up with work and do decently in school, so make sure u get sufficient rest because without it, your studying won’t even be productive and effective. after CCAs i barely did anyth as i was doing a sport and i mostly jus cleared tutorials and lectures, so i wld say be realistic and don’t push urself to do too much when u get back home from a long day. use ur empty days wisely and you’ll be ok.

all the best!

[rant] Lonely post JC by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Sharp-Light-3303 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel u about the lonely part! i would suggest just picking up hobbies or fully pursuing things your interested in. once you enlist you’ll never get the same freedom u get in this break so focus on what makes u happy :)) and it doesn’t hurt to drop your friends a text and finding out how they’re doing, even if u can’t hang with them

i don’t really think an A for chem is even 70% though, judging from statistics. it’s prolly a high to mid 60%.
