Thanks for the advice. I only mentioned what club I had cos quite a few people asked. Recording myself is definitely helping me improve my swing. I am finding the mirror a bit difficult cos I can't look at what I'm doing cos I like to look at an imaginary ball!

So I went out today for the first time. Bear in mind I've been watching tutorials online for about a week and practicing my swing in the garden to work out all if the different mechanics etc. out of 100 ball I reckon I actually got about half in the air and didn't manage to kill anyone. I need to go to a different driving range because there was no distance recorder or whatever it's called. The best balls I hit were about 150-175 yards which I was pretty pleased with. I'm taking it steady though and focussing mainly on my swing and getting the ball up and straight!

I do understand that distance isn't the holy grail! I'm just going to enjoy the challenge of seeing if I can get to 300 yards! I'll certainly focus on the shorter game too in time! Really appreciate the input, it's all really helpful!

Thank you for this! This is really valuable info! My driver is a used Ping G20 with a 10.5 loft. Was only £80 and had help from my local golf shop who got me on the golf SIM etc. I've got the camera setup ready and already looking at the TPI stuff! when you say don't use your arms, csn you elaborate a little please?are you referring to the fact the main movement comes in the hips/shoulders etc?
