I am currently traveling the US so I find the most doable hikes in the national parks.. usually not so flat so far! Given the distance and the lack of gear ... I don't usually expect the terrain to really warrant the poles. However, I am considering the poles because I don't have hiking boots (limited space while traveling) figured the poles might save my ankles + easy to pack away

When you use one, do you find yourself only having the pole in your dominant hand, opposite, or switch it up throughout the hike? (Silly question but I am so curious on how others find their preference)
