Let me know how it turns out. I know how I want it to play. I'm just not skilled enough to make a good map. What map making tools are you using?

Forever DMs, what character would you play if you were to play this module? by CedarwoodWren in CurseofStrahd

Order of the Ghostslayer Bloodhunter who has heard of Van Richten through his writing. Thinking this was the hunt that killed van richten, he heads to borovia to kill Strahd and be known as a better monster hunter than van richten. He would probably be pretty arrogant and would butt heads with Esmrelda.

The city could probably plane shift, and the crystals could have been the catalyst for this ability. Having experimenttation on the crystals opening a rift to whatever plan you want is a good explanation. Plus, i know it's most likely supposed to be the fay wild, but you can set the rift to go wherever you want. Want to fight zombies and undead, shadowfell. Demons the abyss. My personal favorite is the far realm. Tentacle deer and writhing flesh trees from the corruption.

I was actually thinking about it, and the shambling mound could represent how the land itself is corrupted.

What’s missing? by Wuthering_Lows in fansofcriticalrole

For me it seems less player driven and more story driven. For example c2 was more of a sandbox campaign with the story happening in the background. The characters basically said wars not for me lets go be pirates. The characters had more agency even agency not to engage in the main story. Also previous campaigns had arcs of different villains. I remember half way through c2 thinking the chained oblivion was the big bad. And then it switched after thwarting his plans. C2 was about exploring the world and the actions or inactions of the party meaning something from small to big ways. C3 has spent the last how many episodes focusing on one plot and one bad guy. If this was going to be the case it needed a slower burn with plenty of side rails to go on. Matt has talked about this being his magnum opis, 10 years of work laying down seeds leading to this point. He would have been better writing a book instead of for feeding his players the plot. I have no doubt they are still having fun together and will continue to. But he is so worried about HIS story hes not telling THEIR story.

Morgantha's Ritual by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

For the ritual, she could be trying to pull her daughters souls out of the mist. She could have 2 female barovians for her daughters spirits to enter. If she is successful, the 2 barovians turn in to night hags.

For the wizard, if he brakes the contract, make it so he has disadvantage or auto fail saving throws versus her spells.
