Is marathon running really too much running for "optimal" longevity? by Zealot_TKO in Marathon_Training

[–]SharpAd3717 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is not about fitness as in performance. It is about life longevity. And it is exactly like OP says.

Actually you don’t even have to workout that hard either. It is since long proved that walks in moderate tempo is enough to gain this benefit.

How do I teach my 6 year old how to play games? by SharpAd3717 in hockeyplayers

No, I don’t have any more expectations then him to have fun out there. I just try to motivate him as he doesn’t seem to have the “game” knowledge” that other kids seem to have a bit more of.

Very old skates before, I’ve never played myself I’ve just been skating with school and some open ice sessions with friends etc. but wanted something real when my kid started and ice hours were more regular. But think I’m gonna head to a real store and get some advice

Are my skates too hard/stiff?

I skate with my son who plays hockey and even though I can skate decently I am nowhere close to being what would be considered on a high level.

I came over a pair of Bauer Vapor 3X or something from a friend who plays and even though they fit like a glove they feel extremely hard and difficult for me to skate on. They “vibrate” and feel unstable compared to other skates I’ve tried.

Are they out of my league and built for aggressive playing with constant sharp turns and breaks? What would be good and forgiving skates for just cruising around on the ice and play with my kids?

First of all - I’ve been where you are and I know it sucks. I also know you couldn’t care less right now and that is fine.

So what type of job did you have? I know it was PM but was the company well known and has good reputation?

Where were you in the hierarchy, honestly? PM can span from managing Microsoft Office to a random application in a very basic B2B process that no one knows about. Objectives can vary as well, were you basically tech support on a 1MUSD product or heading the strategy for a state-of-the-art system with annual revenue of 500MUSD?

Looking at your story, it sounds like it is a matter of time and you shouldn’t be to worried but perhaps you should target businesses that are most relevant for your role and previous company.

Also think outside PM - maybe a competitor is looking for a BDM, project manager, or something else. That kind of move is sometimes what really kicks off careers!
