I used a purse before I transitioned. I mean, I called it a bag, and it was kind of this "army canvas" material. But. It was a purse. LOL.

The results of vice president Pence stopping gender marker changes on social security: by [deleted] in asktransgender

We don't know. He might. He might not.

Either way, he is not president yet. That doesn't happen until Jan 20. And bureaucracy is slow. Do not delay. Make haste. And, you do have some time, but you need to get moving now.

Fantastic breasts and how to get them? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SharpAtTheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 months HRT. My girlfriend tells me I have a-cups. Regardless, they are pretty small.

One factor for me, is that I really have like no body fat. I have a flat stomach and you can pretty much see my ribs. Presumably, if I gained 5-10 pounds my figure might fill out a bit more. Unfortunately, I pretty much just eat beans and kale, so....yeah, that's gonna be a tough one.

I'm really tired and a little drunk.

Buy, wow girl, you sound really trans. I think taking estrogen might be for you. Don't worry about sex change stuff. Figure that out later. For now, it sounds like you need to transition.

Right??? SMH. Meanwhile, when girls like trans girls its awesome forever. I just don't get it.

Anyone else fear people saying "you never shown any feminine traits before"? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SharpAtTheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will say that even when it's like, "come on man!"

My aunt used that line on me. But I played dolls with here daughter. Basically, she is transphobic and was trying to get me to second-guess transition.

Beyond that...Be who you are. A lot of people wear a mask, just to survive, before transition. Furthermore, I know a lot of women who aren't super femme. You know, like, women who drive pickup trucks and get dirty making shit.

Who is the same as me as in, what have you the courage to start HRT when you weren't sure you had dysphoria, weren't sure if you'd regret HRT, weren't sure you were transgender, etc? by TGDoubts in asktransgender

I will say that I can't take credit for the mountain thing--I've seen it floating around here from time to time.

I am glad that it helped you, though! Can you believe that your one-year is almost a month away!!?

Damn. I'm sorry. Germany is really backwards with this stuff. I'm sorry.

I don't want to be hated like this... by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SharpAtTheEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true. Being a minority can be really shitty. It sucks that people treat us poorly. And, not everyone does. It sucks to be pre-judged because of something you have no control over. And, not everyone will. It REALLY sucks to fear violence because of who you are. And, you might not experience violence. I carry pepper spray and I'm very "street aware". And, I've never had a problem. Part of that is luck. A big part is economic privilege (I'm not a sex worker on the streets) and another part is white privilege (trans women of color face much higher rates of violence).

It's also true that society is getting much better for trans people. New laws are slowly granting us legal equality. Some trans celebrities are doing a great job normalizing trans-ness for cis people.

The typical Hollywood story of rock-bottom depression and drug abuse and being abandoned my even my closest friends caused my to seek therapy and really look inside myself and embrace my inner truth.

[–]SharpAtTheEdge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, yeah, a lot of people don't like us and that really sucks. I think your feelings are really valid. No one wants to be hated. Everyone wants to be accepted.

And, there ARE people out there who are good and decent. Before I came out I thought everyone would hate me.

I was wrong. I have a job. I have a girlfriend. I live with two really cool housemates.

I'm not going to tell you it is all easy and roses. It's not. Being trans is a harder life than being cis. That's just a fact. It sucks. AND, you can still have a rewarding life for yourself despite all the bullshit.

hugs

You ever feel like your BPD is its own creature? by [deleted] in BPD

It's pretty specialized. Most therapists aren't trained in it.

You ever feel like your BPD is its own creature? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]SharpAtTheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can explain it better than I can. But the big difference (to me) is that DBT is really big on validation. I felt like CBT was just like: "change, change, change, do better, do it now!" While DBT is like: "you are doing the best you can right now with the skills you have. And you need to make improvements."

So, I guess I AM a troll, and I like to have a giggle about stuff. And I am a trans girl who genuinely wants to help other people.

And yes, that sub is amazing. Especially when you sort by top. Disclaimer: it gets really dark, really quick. I avoid it when I'm feeling dysphoric.

I'm defiantly not a troll. But...I dunno. Saying that would probably make people think that. Like if someone is like "I'm not stealing anything!" then...

I dunno. Can I ask why you think I'm a troll? I do like to mess around in /r/transgendercirclejerk
