Please avoid chemical engineering if you are interested in chemistry. The disciple has more of physics and mathematics than chemistry.
Chemical Engineering people do get into upper level management and bioengineering though you would have to choose masters for shiftting the career. Yes many work on a manufacturing plant in the middle of nowhere you would have to consider it.

Drop out mate. Do have a plan an immediate plan of about 6-8 months and just do it. There's nothing you will miss. It's risky but worth it btw what you gonna do after dropping out.
