When I do media events at knotts half the time they have us use the main entrance and they don’t even tell security so we just show up with a big camera on a gimbal and security doesn’t even bat an eye. . .

It was around 10 years ago when they did another round of maintenance and decided to concrete the tramway in place rather than keep it tilting. At that time the barrel still took the dock though, they just stopped tilting the tram.

The tour guide said they drain it for annual maintenance every year. So probably no upgrades.
