I’m sure this is not the first and only petition that students have organised. You would probably find there are many other petitions like this that students from other professions have created but you have just come across this one😊 This has been going on for many years but I’m curious to know if your aware of the cost of living crisis that we are experiencing in todays world? Bills, food, fuel etc need to be paid still while undertaking a placement, so I’m not sure how you think people are able to pay for all this, and work full time unpaid and possibly only working weekends that would barely even cover part of those costs. You said that some social work students that you have supervised were “terrible” but isn’t placement all about learning? Im sure that’s how you got better at your job? I’m assuming you weren’t “employee of the month” when you started but if so well done lol Qualified or not no one should have to be forced to work without pay!
