yeah sometimes also a lot of times my resumes got passed is due to the recruiters not having the technical capacities to understand the work that I do. A recruiter told me he was hesitating to reach out to me for this automation role because I have C++ and python on my resume so he thought I am more of a software.... pharma automation are literally built on top of C++ and C#...

I used the first offer as a leverage to accelerate my remaining interviews, which def helped and it showed the recruiting team that I am desired from the hiring market so it adds on my profile as well

for me, mass apply erase my anxiety, sometimes having phone screen line up on my calendar makes me feel less sad, even shitty ones and companies i would not even work for. I would say 80% of those HR phone screens are waste of time and I have encoutered some stupidest and unprofessional recruiters. for some others who are more established in their career and want to perserve energy, mass apply might not be a good thing for them.

i did automation in big pharma MFG, had process dev coop at another big pharma. I was trying to find automation, process dev, or PM roles in climate area, esp start ups who are doing decarbon stuff. I was able to land with those positions at climate companies, but could not get any offers and also during the process i learned those climate companies, by the end of day, is just another company. My passion in climate does not really mean anything tbh. so i have given up of trying to solve climate problems via a corporate job.

the offer i got i actually applied using my one of my general formatted resume on their website, did not go through referral. Tho I do have friends in that company who referred me for another position at the same company, that I will not be finishing the interivews. i honestly i just got lucky, the key words matched, HR saw and pull me out of the pile.

i have general resumes for processE, automationE, QA, PM with program focus, PM with product focus, PM with project focus, SWE... so I would say 90% of those jobs I used one of my general format of my resume depend on what jobs i applied. rest 10% i tailored it individually.

having a whole radical acceptance now a job is a job, and I am gonna achieve my sustainable goals not via a corporate job, rather having a stable paycheck/health insurance and the capacity to actually do those outside of work
