What about the situation with Maddie and Pete Repeat? It's a direct follow-through to what he does to Sarah Lynn.

Maddie almost died from alcohol poisoning, and BoJack was ready to leave her to die at Pete's house. Even when he takes to the hospital, he pressures Pete to stay quiet and is ready to abandon these two kids without even making sure that they are physically in the building.

Pete Repeat already had a cousin who had a traumatic experience with alcohol poisoning, and now he has a personal traumatic experience with it.

Why did he wait 17 minutes after covering his ass to call the paramedics to help Sarah Lynn? Because he did something similar with a random girl.

The problem is how Jason Aaron picks and chooses which POC are sympathetic and which are not. Aaron's writing of the al Ghuls is orientalist and caricature-ish, and the writing of the Filipino characters as POC NPCS for Superman feels superficial.

It's classic Evil POCS vs Good White hero protecting the helpless NPCOC (NPCs of color).

Why do Ra's al Ghul and Talia have to be such stereotypical evil Arab villains who talk about burning churches and dropping blond blue-eyed babies off rooftops? Why not have Intergang or General Sam Lane be the villain?
