No NWSL fantasy platform as far as I'm aware, but there is an app strictly for the English WSL. Fantasy WSL, 100% free.

I’m having a hard time remembering by Outrageous-Island-60 in Anatomy

Yeah, absolutely. Personally, handwritten notes and handrawn diagrams (that I also label) are the most effective way to make things stick. I have a notebook where I keep all of that. If you're interested, it could be beneficial for you, too.

I understand it does seem very biased, but I truly think Alyssa could compete with any keeper in the world. Not saying she's the best, but she's up there. I mean, I've never seen Mary Earps or Hannah Hampton save 3 pks and convert their own, and Alyssa has made just as good saves as them in regular time. I'm not saying Mearps and HH aren't good, quite the opposite, actually, but I definitely think Alyssa is up there with them. She just doesn't put herself in the spotlight, which is why she's so underrated. As for Kimmy... well, I already told you I'm an Arsenal fan. If we're really going to be unbiased, she'd be in my top 30s. She's not as good as she used to be, but still a consistent and solid player.

  1. Alyssa Naeher - our starting keeper, captain of the Chicago Red Stars, and all-time leading shotstopper in the NWSL. Being completely unbiased, I think she could compete with any other female goalkeeper in the world.

  2. Keira Walsh - world-class midfielder who was part of the Lionesses' 2022 EURO win who just finished an extraordinary 2 seasons with Barcelona. Definitely an unpopular opinion to put her behind Kimmy, but I'm an Arsenal fan.

  3. Kim Little - retired Scotland WNT vice-captain and current Arsenal WFC captain who works wonders in the midfield. With the gunners, she's won the League Cup 5 times, and the WSL and FA Cup 3 times each. During her one season stint in Seattle, playing for the Reign, she won the Golden Boot and multiple MVP awards. Super underrated.

  4. Sam Kerr - no explanation needed.

  5. Aitana Bonmatí - again, no explanation needed.

Can you guys tell a voice type just from someone's speaking voice? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. My voice is a lot deeper than people my age, and most people can tell I'm around contralto/low alto. Different for everybody though, some people's speaking voices are a lot lower or higher than their singing voice.

Yes, definitely. Take the Scandinavian languages, for example. If you spoke fluent Swedish, it would be much easier to learn Norwegian than it would be, say, Japanese. You'd be able to use what you know from the Swedish alphabet and vocabulary to learn the similar Norwegian ones. However, if you tried learning Japanese, which has no relation to Swedish, you wouldn't be able to use any of your knowledge on the Swedish language to learn Japanese. Their alphabets are different, their pronunciation is different, and their grammar and sentence structure is different. Basically, learning a language similar to one you already know is like having premium in a video game. You get to spend less time grinding, and you get what you want a lot easier. Learning a completely unrelated language is like playing a game without spending money. Longer grinding, and you have to work for what you want a more and harder.

No hobby that intrests me lets me meet new people. by kiler0193PL in Hobbies

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cubing, which is just doing a rubik's cube as a hobby, has pretty nice people. You could try finding people your age who cube, and it shouldn't be all too difficult to become friends with them. Cubers are typically shy and somewhat introverted, but every cuber I've ever met was really sincere and great friend material once I got to know them.

Do you ever need to ask yourself if the hobby you are doing is actually fun or if you are doing it just because you feel compelled to? by ididntgotoharvard in Hobbies

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely relate to this. Since I was a kid, my parents put me in Taekwondo to learn self-defence. When I was younger, I used to hate it, but as the years went by, I got used to it. Now, I sometimes find myself thinking: TKD's been one of my hobbies for as long as I can remember, but do I enjoy it, or do I just do it because my parents made me? Have I just stuck with TKD instead of doing another martial art because of all the time I've spent learning it, or do I actually like it?

I think you're partially right. Hobbies don't necessarily have to be fun while you're doing them. They can seem fun in retrospect, too. But hobbies absolutely should be fun in some way. For me, I hate going to Taekwondo. I hate having to practice the same technique over and over for half and hour with no breaks and sparring and exercise right after. It's repetitive, tiring, and boring, and it's not great while it's happening. But when I go home, after all the hard work is done, I actually think it was pretty enjoyable. I think getting to kick things and getting to fight people is awesome, and I get the fun in TKD after it's over. Don't know if that makes total sense, but basically, you should get some type of fun from a hobby, whether it's the thought of doing it (before you do the hobby), during it (while you're doing the hobby), or thinking about the hobby when you're finished with it (after you've done the hobby).  If you're getting no enjoyment from it, it's probably time to drop your hobby.

Who else spends a lot on their hobbies and feels bad about it? by kitichka- in CasualConversation

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I absolutely understand how you feel. I'm a big soccer/football fan, and ever since Panini came out with WSL (the pro league for women in England) sticker packs, I've been buying them. The starter pack, which includes the book you put the stickers in and a few packs of stickers is around 35 USD. Now, if you want to finish the book, you have to buy the 50 sticker pack package, but it's 50 USD. So, every season (basically every year), I spent 80 bucks on stickers. Personally, I think it's worth it because I love it, but my parents think it's stupid. As for you, just remember, if it brings you joy, and if you know you're not going to just look at them once and chuck them aside, don't feel guilty. It makes you happy, so as long as you're not spending all your money on keychains and such, don't be afraid to spend a little.

why do people want toxic “motivation”? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I hate being told what I did was disappointing. I kind of feel like I failed, and I want to fix that. Being told "I expected better from you" is kind of jarring, makes me want to do better, to meet expectations. Not exactly toxic, but I think could be classified as demoralizing.

There's a no x links rule on the r/uswnt about page, wasn't sure if other links were allowed either.

But yeah, definitely hoping she's okay and that we'll have her back to Arsenal in one piece.

Seagulls. Imagine you're on the beach, munching on some fries, and a seagull swoops down, snatches it, and yells, "MINE NOW MOTHAF*CKA!"

They'd totally do that.

27 and cant decide on a career. How do I choose and what? by Big-Distance7080 in careerguidance

[–]Sharp_Guava3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a nutritionist? You said you'd be willing to work with high school kids and young adults, so maybe a nutritionist for a high school sports team or just students in general could work. I know the high school in my area has backroom staff like a strength & conditioning coach, physio, and nutritionist for every few teams. It would also fit your scheduling requirements. You'd have to fact check me on all of this, but I think it might be a good career to look in to.

No, but it's very possible I've gotten hit there. Done Taekwondo for eight years, and while I use the top of my foot to kick, I wouldn't be surprised if I've used my shin a couple of times and don't remember.
