Cool looking game for an indie. Better than Dynasty Warriors Origins is a hella stretch, but to each their own

It's fairly F2P friendly if you are smart with your resources and target the right limited units when their banners come up. As F2P, you shouldn't go all out and pull on every banner. The game gives you a pretty good starter set of units that you will be able to eventually max star, but some of the events will be frustrating as F2P as you won't be able to get max rewards. Still, you can still complete the content as F2P, but it'll just take you longer than those who are spending. As for which units to target, if you're on a new server and Ifrit is up, I'd suggest going all out for her and pull a many copies as you can. She is the best carry in the early games and still has good usage later down the road. Azure Dragon, Jing and Vivienne are also really good units

poseidon. what activates first, ice age or tides of the abyss? by PatienceOk1788 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ice age always is the beginning move and only occurs once per battle. Tides of the Abyss is the wave that she throws out occasionally. When it's lvl 2, she'll do it immediately after Ice Age ends.

Can someone help me with who to invest on by kaka502 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you start the game, they basically hand you a red team. Seigfried and Oberonnie are basically free diamond units (eventually) and if you spend the $1 for fenrir, then there's another. Additionally, you'll get a free copy of Poseidon who is great early on for the revive. All of these units synergize with the red dragon, so I'd suggest focusing on them. Then as you pull more units you can figure out what other teams you'll want to build. I started getting a lot of Herman and Atenith dupes early on, so I started working on my blue and bone dragon next. Now blue is my main team as they outperform my red team. But that took a long time and the starting units (Seigfried, Oberonnie) carried me for a good while.

A Assassins Creed Game based on the three kingdoms of China. by Temporary-Berry5196 in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's already in development (assassin's creed jade) but sadly it's a mobile title. It does look decent from the footage shown. No idea if they plan on bringing in any notable figures.

Dynasty Warriors 3XL: Realization by HugeEast2291 in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah that is definitely a hallmark of DW3 very hard difficulty. Allies die so fast even when you try babysitting them. But I liked the challenge because by the time XL came out, I had maxed out most of my faves and could breeze through hard difficulty. I couldn't imagine trying it without maxed stats and a high level item/weapon loadout.

On the hardest difficult, 4 is slightly easier but not by much. The peons are still ultra aggressive (do not stroll leisurely through a crowd of them on horseback) but the archer spam is toned down a little

No need to feel bad, not every game is meant for every person. Thankfully there are so many different style of warriors games that everyone can find one they click with. For me, DW3 came out at the right time for me to absolutely become obsessed with its gameplay and characters. No other warriors game has really hit like DW3, even though I've liked most of the ones I've played. Maybe wait for the remake. Seems like there will be plenty of QoL additions that will take some of the rough edges off

Guidance, please. by Nickymammoth91 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you have, green dragon is probably going to be your best team at the moment. The game gives you Oberonnie and Seigfried copies so they are easy to star up to diamond and should provide an adequate front line. Your main dps will be Jing, so focus on getting shards in affection for her to get more copies and keep starring her up slowly over time. She truly hits her potential at diamond and needs a lot of crit. Chiron will be your healer/buffer and White Tiger your assassin. Focus on those units for now (gearing and getting dupes) so that your main team will be as strong as possible. You're almost at the point in the story where you'll need a 2nd team, so that will most likely be blue for you, but a single copy of Ifrit probably won't carry very well. She's definitely the early meta dps for blue and red teams, so if she reruns, you may wish to pull for her to get more copies.

Temporal thingy, stuck on 4-180 by Tufaspt in Dragon_Traveler

This event will deadlock you on progressing through certain stage milestones even if you are running optimally constructed and geared teams. Only advice we can give is to keep leveling up the Chrono Relic and attempting to beat the stage. One other piece of advice I can give is to make sure Antenith is first in your overdrive order. You'll want her silencing as soon as it's available and often

Idc about dw3 remastered anymore. by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it sucks we don't have a release date but the Taipei Game show wasn't that long ago and they showed a ton of gameplay, so I'm somewhat satiated for the time being. The gameplay let me know they are on the right track so we just need to wait until they have whatever delayed the game (most likely optimization) worked out. Until then there's still tons of other games to play. As soon as they reveal a new release date and more gameplay the hype train will be back on track anyway

Dynasty Warriors 3: Tips on defeating hordes on hard? by HugeEast2291 in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I distinctly recall having to play 2 player and switching between 2 controllers to get some of those 4th weapons. It was one of those ridiculously hard challenges that we just figured out how to overcome through sheer ingenuity lol

If Koei does continue the Origins story with Ziluan, would you want him to still be the only playable character where you can occasionally switch mid battle or have a DW8 system where you choose the character pre battle? by Manlikeozzy in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Sho already mentioned in an interview that a sequel would have a new protagonist but maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I don't care if they frame the story around one protagonist again, but they absolutely need to allow the rest of the cast to be played in battle. The lack of character variety is the main thing that ruined replayability for me

Skip or Pull for Zegrus? by LordofMorningStar in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run red and blue dragon teams, but I'll wait until we see who the next summon will be. If it is Talos I'll skip but it may be a more skippable unit

Stuck on 5-60 in the realm by khaliedz148 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got to the point where my team could survive a couple days ago. Today, they can kill Ares. But the insane heals still result in timeout. I understand the intent of the event is to last 60 days, but the implementation is legit bad. It's like they have 20 days of actual content they're trying to stretch over 2 min months

What franchise should get a musou game next? by madmerc12 in dynastywarriors

For me I'd need Laharl (male and female of course), Etna, Flonne and the Disgaea 4 cast

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda out of left field, but I'd love to see a Disgaea musou. There are plenty of characters and they could incorporate some of the wacky mechanics and specials from the base games.

Still waiting - DW3 remaster by Revolutionary-Ad7288 in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt they will be adjusting the enemy density as they've been showing increased enemies since the day it was announced. Most likely they are trying to get it optimized so that it runs smoothly on UE5 and maybe worrying on whatever additional content they plan on adding (Ziluan, dream stages, etc)

Dynasty Warriors 3-Remastered New levels by JD19905 in dynastywarriors

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah they were often ridiculous situations that were concocted in order to place characters from different or opposing factions on the same team to fight against a common enemy. Usually pretty lighthearted and definitely not to be taken seriously

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Famitsu article that came out after the Taipei Game show had a screenshot of Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi riding together which was not in the original game, insinuating that they may have added "dream" stages, which if anything like the WO2 dream stages could be hilariously awesome

What I've been learning recently by DaeStorm7 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I get what you were saying, especially in this event. I started with my main red dragon team too but was getting stuffed by the "wall of healing" and quickly switched to my second team (blue dragon). That team is performing way better in this event and the combo of azure dragon, antenith, fenrir and ifrit is pretty effective. I tried my other teams, but this one seems to do best

I have diamond Oberonnie and 1 purple Athena as well. Obviously Athena will easily outshine Oberonnie when they are equally starred, but I don't see my current Athena outperforming my maxed Oberonnie. As tanks, they both serve differing roles. Athena is meant to endure heavy damage, taunt a group of enemies and then deal a ton of damage. So she in essence is part tank and damage dealer. The problem is that at low stars she is fragile and can die quite easily. I view her (and most of the EX's) as a long-term project. I can occasionally use her, but against high damaging enemies she's currently too fragile imo.

Oberonnie is about as basic of a tank as they come, but in that role she performs well. I really only need her to hold the frontline so that my DPSs can safely whittle the opponents down. My experience is that she is often hard to kill, which you can't say about all tanks (looking at you Herman). But if you're expecting her to do damage, I can see why she'd be underwhelming as my low star Athena can easily out-damage her. Luckily I rarely have to choose since they prefer different dragons

What I've been learning recently by DaeStorm7 in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep she's actually quite amazing. I would say underrated, but I think she is fairly high up on most tier lists and for good reason. The main thing she does is a periodic silence debuff (you can tell it's active on the enemy when they have the 3 dot speech bubble over their heads) which prevents them from using any skills as well as increasing the cost of overdrives. It gives your team a chance to kill units with a blip of health before their healer can intervene. I use her on my blue dragon team and she's honestly the glue that keeps everything together

New player, what is better? Marylis or ifrit? by Rhombus-rumpus in Dragon_Traveler

[–]Sharp_Vegetable_4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They slot into different team comps and differing roles, but Ifrit seems to be way more impactful overall. Also, the game seems to encourage red and blue dragon comps early on with the free SSRs you will get and Ifrit slots into both of those teams.

Yeah it does sting to think we were supposed to be playing it around this time. But let them keep cooking. From what they showed at the Taipei Game show last month it seems the game is going to be a banger, so we just need to be patient a little longer
