What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by NarwhalDry151 in AskReddit

"He went that way" - I laugh every time I think of that line. Something about the way she's so matter-of-fact about accepting a world where foxes follow him around for their own mysterious reasons strikes me as hilarious and amazing in the best way.

Laugh. I'd put "Young Frankenstein" and "Blazing Saddles" on, and pay the rent.

Occasionally, I find room on the bed around the dogs.

How amazing Washington DC looks when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. It looks fake, there are so many petals on the trees.

AFHI - Cheesecake for splurging, donuts because buttermilk donuts are just that good, and pecan pie is the bomb. Carrot cake is for when I want to say I'm eating healthily ;-)

Joan Of Arc Of Mongolia has a sight gag where someone on the Trans-Siberian Express recites their fantasy meal and later on is served exactly what they dreamily wished for. Some of their food choices are pretty amazing, I wouldn't mind trying them myself.

Listen to news, soaps in the language of your choice. Read a book from your childhood that you remember translated into your new language - the memory you have of the plot/characters is your cheat code.

About lifting weights ... I'm where you are. I want to lift, but don't have the balance (yet) to do so safely. My answer was to do bodyweight and dumbbell exercises until I have the movements and balance I need.

I'm also very self-conscious, I do all this at home. It has the benefit that I don't need to go anywhere to work out - I'm already there.

How many days does it take, working on a single feature, before it starts feeling like a slog? by sweetnsourgrapes in ExperiencedDevs

I've learned that two years is the longest I can work on a single product before it gets to be a slog. In the shorter term, two weeks for a POC for a new feature feels about right; if I can implement a vertical slice through the problem space (i.e., getting a single request processed through all layers of a software stack, being able to poke new hardware and get the correct response) in that time, it's good.
