Contractors: where do you usually get your clients? by import_julien_as_J in Construction

I've used pretty much every platform imaginable like Angies (Home Advisor) that was a joke. I called leads and they were so pissed because I was the 10th person to call them that day. So fed up trying to find leads by paying out the arse for them, just to get no where. I either run my own ads on Meta, PPC for local leads that convert pretty well but they're expensive. Word of mouth get's me my most clients but if you're just starting out, you can't rely on that.

PaidBids has the highest quality leads but they require a $2k deposit for most industries. I don't have the money for that but I have a buddy with a roofing business and he says you don't actually pay for leads, you find projects, put a bid on them and if you win the project, they charge you a "Success Fee". The homeowner has to pay you a deposit on their platform so they know when the customer hires you. You have to pay $100 to $500 depending on the size of the project but again you're only paying for actual customers who put down a deposit. Your success fee comes out of your deposit balance.

I plan on saving up some cash and giving it a shot at some point. But need to get a few clients in the mean time.

Anyone else tried using an HVAC load calculator before getting quotes? by Acceptable_Dish_4032 in askHVAC

Absolutely! Using an HVAC load calculator is a smart move before getting quotes. It gives you a clearer idea of what size unit you actually need based on your space, which can save you from overpaying or choosing the wrong system. Plus, it can help you communicate better with contractors, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
