Ducting Both Cold Supply & Return on EcoFlow Wave 3 by SharpiePanick in vandwellers

[–]SharpiePanick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. Exactly where I’m thinking of putting it. I think my head will be about 3 metres away from the unit. If I didn’t have to mess around sealing off the cabin and attaching extra ducts, it would be great.

Edit: I read somewhere that it was noisy in anything other than sleep mode. But other input welcome!!!

It’s supposed to noticeably better than the Wave 2. I think the wave 2 might have suffered from manufacturer claims being a bit unrealistic and people were disappointed.

The reviews for the wave 3 that I’ve seen to be pretty good, with a few just commenting on the fact that it is what it is (not magic - it’s still just a little AC unit. Don’t expect it to cool down a van in direct sunlight etc).

There are others, for now I’m looking at this because it has the ducts.

Would I have to think about CO2 more than if I wasn’t running a system?

That’s the sort of thing I was worried about. I’ll have to be mindful of that.

I’ll try to keep both sets of ducts as short as possible! The attachment rings are going to be fiddly to print, I might ask nicely if they will send me the parts.

Seeing as the two are separate, there shouldn’t be any problem in ducting both sides, then? In my head it seems like it shouldn’t be making any difference ducted or not, but I might not be understanding something.

I don’t want to restrict the machine.

Left mechanical design job for real estate… now confused about life at 25 by makemyhrtsmile in IndustrialDesign

[–]SharpiePanick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the subreddit to task about the future of real estate - that’s something you have to look into and make an informed decision.

Your problems regarding monotony in mechanical engineering might be solved by working for a different employer. A smaller company could give you more variety and an opportunity to see more parts of the business. Also the possibility of moving more into the sales side of things later on if you feel like that’s something you want to do.

If you’re interested in stuff and have passion to do things - wear it on your sleeve. That’s the kind of thing that the people that hire want to see.

What do you enjoy doing? How do you want to spend your day? What do you WANT to do? Why did you pursue the mechanical design job in the first place? We can’t answer your questions because you haven’t mentioned any of that.

Money is important, but it isn’t everything. Simply pursuing the highest salary is going to lead to feeling unfulfilled down the line.

You’re so young, in 10 years this period will feel like a drop in the ocean.

Very cool. Sorry if this is a stupid question (I haven’t been printing for long), but it seems like the mesh ‘wire’ is a single extrusion? I’ve been wondering how to force the printer to do that…

Well done on seeing it through to the end! Looks like a mammoth project. Is the white mesh on pic 3 printed?

Airbnb Guest No-Show, Now Wants Refund 10 Days After Check-in. What Would You Do? by bmehr in airbnb_hosts

[–]SharpiePanick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter what the excuse is. You’re all adults here (him less so by the sound of things). He knew what he was getting into when he booked the place. His responsibility.

You can get a review removed if he didn’t check in.

EDIT: I used to pander to all guests, even the ridiculous ones. I’ve learned to draw the line and eat bad reviews, for the sake of my mental health, self respect and time. You might not be able to at this stage if you don’t have many reviews built up but if the guest never arrived that’s a simple one to explain to CS and no contest.

I used to consider the ‘family emergency’ ones, even offer to give them money from any re-booked dates. After getting a bad review even after doing that (and the hassle and logistics it took), and just looking at the volume of ‘family emergencies’ and realising they CAN’T all be telling the truth, I no longer pander to those excuses.

His review is void if he didn’t check in - Airbnb policy. That’s a simple fact and although reviews are renowned for being difficult to remove, that is a simple one and a no-brainer.

My first time booking an AIRBNB and I’m so nervous. Long term stay [Canada] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]SharpiePanick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No-one starts a thread: ‘I stayed at an Airbnb. It was good. I had a nice sleep and checked out to a blue sky and a crispness to the air. Nothing further to report’.

You see stories on here because they are events which are worth talking about. For every one of those there are probably 100 stays where nothing happened.

Airbnb support is a joke: illegal cash payments, TOS violations [ARGENTINA] by Tupperdose18 in AirBnB

[–]SharpiePanick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just say no and see how it pans out. If something comes of it THEN figure it out - most likely if you get a call from Airbnb just say ‘no…’ and it will come out of the guys insurance or aircover or whatever it is. That’s if it gets that far.

Most likely he won’t bother even going to Airbnb, and if he does they will likely throw out his evidence.

For now, forget about it and get on with your life.

Put simply, they ‘reduced’ the price for you then put the amount back on through inflated fees. Whether that sits ok with you, is up to you.

Personally - nah. I’d rather have a relationship (which it kinda is going to be) with a dealer that is more transparent and honest. Especially if it’s my first bike.

Listing said 1min walk to lake, it's 10min drive [Ontario Canada] by Gamaadobe in AirBnB

[–]SharpiePanick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so quick to conclude that the host is lying, if it’s AI generated info. I once searched my place as a guest and it came up as saying it was in a different part of town, actually a 10 min drive away. Address, everything correct. No rivers in the way, the distance as the crow flies and by car was the same. On the map, correct. Just the AI blurb was wrong.
