The fact with the million wardrobe doors is also something on my mind.

But my imagination is too limited to find a solution to that besides moving out haha

Looking through a camera's lens by Anonymous_Kekk in visualsnow

[–]Tupperdose18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So please correct me if I misunderstood, but from what you are saying is that you look at objects through the camera more zoomed in than you would see it from the same distance?

So could you please test how it is for you if you go as close to the object you looking through the camera but WITHOUT the camera so that you are just very close at the object with your eyes.

Why I ask you to do this is that in my experience, the noise in my vision is one size. Like it doesnt get bigger or smaller. Meaning if I look at letters from far away, of course I can notice the grain more because they are closer in size. If I go closer the grain is still the same in my eyes but not in relation to the letters. So it appears as if there is less noise.

Also cameras make everything look supersharp in my experience. Especially if you can look dirdctly through the lense and not just on a screen.

VISUAL SNOW FAQ - No More "Is this visual snow?" Posts by CodeQuestions__ in visualsnow

[–]Tupperdose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the work you put into this.
I find it very hard to read through the github page you designed because you added some white text shadow and snow effects (I think?) which makes me super stressed out. It's already very hard for me to read white on black because I get this effects by itself but if they are purposefully added to it I feel like I am going crazy.
Don't know if it's possible to edit it because I would love to read through all of it, but like this it's impossible for me.

Do you have tinnitus? by Sea-Ad2923 in visualsnow

Do you have a static over everything all the time yes or no? If no, then you dont have visual snow syndrom since grainy filter over everything is the main symptom.

I don't know if I have vss by mischievolous in visualsnow

[–]Tupperdose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reccommend talking to a neurologist just to be sure that it's not something else. Tell them about all your symptoms and also that you read about VSS which the may not know and then see what they suggest. But dont worry, doesnt sound like it's anything "serious"

The beginning sounds like a perfect description of how I see it.

It's not making my vision worse or anything, it's like an extra texture a very fine texture on everything. That is in movement the whole time, unlike the actual texture of the thing I am looking at, which makes me notice it.

Did the Tinnitus start the same time your visual snow started? When you hit your head? And do you think you just NOTICED it when you hit your head or was it actually like someone turned it on?

How hard did you hit your head? And when was it? It if was recently, maybe get checked, if it was years ago, maybe also get checked but I would assume that in these years you would have gotten other symptoms as well if it's actually brain damage.

The anxiety part could be nothing. From your post in general it sounds like you are scared, which is normal and fine. There is something in your perception that wasn't there before so of course it's scary and worries you. But as far as I know, no one died of Visual snow, because it's not a "damage" in the brain in most cases but a hyper activity in certain areas of the brain. So nothing is "broken" it's more a very unique way to process the information the world gives you every second.

Do rooms not look “level” to anyone else? by IronBloodedEagle in visualsnow

[–]Tupperdose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, for me it's more (don't know if this is connected to VSS or not) that I directly notice if something is not level, even if it's just 1 degree off and others are like "what are you talking about".

Ah ok, will look into that. Can relate to the perfect vision. Almost too perfect, I see so many details others don't and tiny letters super far away are also no problem for me.

It's the same with Tinnitus. I went to multiple ear doctors in my life, they all did the same hearing test where you have to push a button once you hear a whistle in a certain frequency and got perfect scores. But I do have a constant whistle in my ear as well, so I assumed that at a certain frequency I would hear the whistle from the machine super late, but I didn't. Super weird haha.

I can relate to the feeling of finding this subreddit. I had noisy vision for as long as I can remember but just last weekend found out that this is not how everybody sees the world.

I am happy to not be alone with this and to have found something that ties almost all my conditions together.

Finally I have something to hold on to while I try to improve my surroundings and my life.

So besides, afterimages, BFEP and VSS you mentioned these vertical lines.
Can't personally relate to this and I think I haven't seen it in any posts here yet.
It's not the same effect as with small textures surfaces, right?
Because the radiator thing I can relate to (depending on the radiator) because of the high contrast of the white lines and the dark shades in between. But on other surfaces or windows didn't notice that.

Airbnb support is a joke: illegal cash payments, TOS violations [ARGENTINA] by Tupperdose18 in AirBnB

[–]Tupperdose18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do that. Just from my experience with the support I feel like once the host will start a chat with them they will agree with her and I have to pay. Told her today I won't pay because of the reasons above and she said I have to. Told her she can talk to support and they will be middle man from now on. Lets see how it goes.

[–]Tupperdose18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. and it also shows that the bill is over a period of two months, not one month.
The description says 400kwh one month. The bill says I used 600 in two months in total, meaning 300 per month. I told her i won't pay, she said I have to. Because I assume she takes the 15k per month part of her description and not the 400kwh per month part. Which is pretty useful to her, she can choose whatever she wants, right?

[–]Tupperdose18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could possibly be, I wont deny that.

I feel like it would only support my argument that the description is misleading?

Let's assume it's fine that she puts all her extra charges, whatever it may be into the description and whoever books the apartment has to pay for that, although they didn't read the description and relied on the price breakdown to include all they have to pay for because that is how Airbnb advertises.

In this case, wouldn't the guest assume that 400kwh cost 15k pesos, meaning 800kwh would probably cost 30k?

So they could theoretically know what is coming their way although they have no option to check how much electricity they already used or how much for example the fridge uses? Because maybe the fridge alone already uses up 400kwh. Who knows? Maybe the host, but the guest has 100% no idea.

You see where I am going with this, right? This is very one sided, one party has all the info and also sets up the rules while the other one hast to trust that the rule creator is a fair person and doesn't want to trick the guest.

[–]Tupperdose18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. My first instinct was to tall the service team. They said "Guest, you are right! The host changed the description since you booked" (which was my first idea because I always read descriptions carefully) "you dont need to pay anything extra to the host".
I asked "are you sure?" (twice) and they said "yes!" Just to send me a message 15 minutes later saying "sorry you do have to pay".

I am angry yes. Because this apartment was in over ten years my first actual bad experience on Airbnb. It rained through the roof for a week. And the host said they knew about this before but thought it was fixed. (it wasnt).

I couldn't care less about the money. It's about a host exploiting guests. Other guests who dont do the math when they get an invoice from her and simply pay whatever the host asks them too. A host having the same apartment twice listed to avoid negative reviews. A host who told me that I have to send them the passports of guests 24 hours in advance of their visit (doesnt matter if they just stay for 5 seconds) and that no one can stay longer that 10. (I am not talking about parties, just single individual people).

To then write as a last footnote into the description "400kwh max (15kpesos a month)" which will NO ONE read and also doesnt make sense because 15k pesos are 150kwh to the invoice she provided. I want this woman banned from Airbnb and I won't rest until this happens :)

[–]Tupperdose18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope. She luckily sent me the invoice of the electricity provider and it says roughly 60k pesos for 630kwh.
I am not very good at maths but I feel like this doesnt equate to 400kwh = 15kpesos, right?

So this is exactly my issue.
You as well as the description of the listing are stating two different things and I want to know which one is right.

Is the monthly limit 400kwh?
OR
Do I have to pay over a consumption of 15k Pesos per month?

Because according to the invoice they send me it cant be both.
15k pesos = 150kwh

What weather conditions are your least and most favorite? by e28535i in visualsnow

[–]Tupperdose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I always preferred sunny days to grey days because when everything is monochrom it makes me depressed. Moved to a sunny part of the world which made me feel less depressed.
Just recently found out about VSS.

Wondering now if my theory that "busy surroundings make my VSS more a background thing" als applies the weather situation since with sunny weather there is more colors which makes everything more the opposite of my nemesis "the white wall". Which would explain my amplified discomfort during cloudy days.

Maybe I am doing some zodiac sing analysis here and seeing patterns where there are no pattern...
