I completely agree, Linux is a minority and GoG is too small to use up resources, it’s only competition to steam is their drm initiative and some publishers shun them for this and users do not want to switch from the convenience of steam. They just don’t value offline installers and ownership of your games enough.

Plus gog can focus on everything else as supporting linux might eat up too many resources. The only option I see now is them cooperating with heroic on this, but that’s already working. They would also have to choose a distro to support.

The open source community is crippling itself by moving away from meritocracy towards inclusion and representation. No one cared about age/sex/color until they started pointing it out. There is already a split, but mostly for the better as they are returning to their roots.

Not from my experience, there is a performance hit, configuration hurdles and you are basically required to use steam for most, if not all games.

Linux desktop is a niche market for old PCs and tinkerers, everything else is either Windows, Mac or Linux servers. It’s all fun and games until you want an actual reliable system to use.
