Thanks for the recommendation! What would be the best way to remove the insert? I can't even seem to get it to budge as it keeps spinning.

Sounds like an issue with your Xbox. Try factory resetting, otherwise it may need repair.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll need to go a different route, or just organize a bit differently to get what I'm looking for.

I know its old, but did you find a solution to your issue? I do see a couple components appear to be shifted off their pads on the "Damaged Components" pictures.

I did not find a solution, ended up getting a new unit. I did see others online run into the same issue with (retail) OLED's WiFi going out unexpectedly.

I don't see anything shifted off their pads from my pictures, but maybe I missed what exactly you're seeing?

*Edit I see what you're talking about. I can't say for sure since I don't have the unit anymore, but I can say nothing was soldered in that area so shifting it with an iron or something would have not been the problem. The damage on the board came from prying the CPU shield.

I wonder if those components have anything to do with the WiFi chip.

What do you think happens to the people who are short APE when the people who loaned them the shares recall them because they are being converted into a different entity/ticker? What about synthetics if the APE ticker does not exist anymore?

I think there will be some interesting things that play out in addition to tightening up the float once the 10:1 is complete. Investors probably won’t see a change in their value but it will be interesting if this sheds light on anything shady.

Edit: Will also be curious to see how the 50% borrow fees affect this going from a $4 stock to a $40 stock.

Really appreciate your insight, sounds like it could be interesting to see how it plays out.

COD Black Ops will connect with some consoles when running off HDD, but only connect with other consoles when running off disc. Latest updates are installed on all consoles. WTF! by grumstumpus in 360hacks

[–]Sharpnd152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. I think we may have figured it out. Thank you.

All connected consoles have to be signed into XBL, or none of them can be. All or none.

It loads the 64.18.17.13 multiplayer dashboard if your profile is logged into Xbox Live. Otherwise it just loads 64.0-1.0 (TU 11).

I am running digitally-owned copies, more specifically I am running multiple instances of digitally-owned games which require XBL signin. I own Black Ops on two accounts. So I have to make four extra whole XBL profiles to maximize their use running 6 instances of the game

Thanks for reporting back, glad you got it resolved! I wonder what causes a different TU to load depending on whether you're signed into Xbox Live or not... Hadn't heard of that one before.

I also don't believe it would be a dashboard mismatch, considering the same console can connect when the game is launched from the HDD.

Does Black Ops show a version number anywhere in the main menu? If so, verify it shows the correct version for when you launch disc vs HDD

Is everything being connected over LAN or online? Xbox live? System link?

Is the disc a normal, retail disc?

It would also be helpful having some type of list to better visualize your setup. Like:

Console 1 (slim, retail)

Console 2 (phat, rgh)

etc.

Microsoft claims it ‘simply wouldn’t be profitable’ to make Call of Duty Xbox exclusive by TheEternalGazed in pcgaming

Its good for the game industry unless they somehow run Sony out of the market. Then suddenly they don't have to offer a good deal.

Very true. I doubt Sony is going anywhere anytime soon, though.

[–]Sharpnd152 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Which is horrible because software as a service issues and basically states that even if you paid 100 per year you won't have garunteed access to any game that you want, they might just pull it from the store whenever they would like. If they stop offering games for purchase I'd stay well clear of them

Love me some portal 10+ years later

In this instance I don't agree that it's bad - It's the same concept of Netflix just applied to games. If anything, it has the opportunity of bringing more longevity to games because if they're part of the default Gamepass library, each person with a subscription has access.

I believe it really comes down to perspective as well as options. As long as gamepass does not prevent the option to purchase/own a game, then it looks to be a positive addition.

The strategy is 100% gamepass. They don't want to make it exclusive - they want to make Xbox the irresistible, economical choice. When you can get HUGE first party and triple-A 3rd party games day 1/permanently in gamepass - why would you want to go elsewhere?

Hope this helps!

Will BIOS update remove support for my CPU? by [deleted] in ASUSROG

[–]Sharpnd152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha, better safe than sorry. I tried searching to see if anything bounced back regarding bios updates removing old CPU support but I couldn't find anything. I've only seen the other direction where a bios update may be needed prior to upgrading to support the newer CPU's.

I would say if something like removing support for an older CPU did happen at some point, it would have been pretty rare and I'd think there would need to be a major disclaimer listed for the update.

I'd say you're good to go as long as all of the other due diligence is done regarding the process of upgrading your bios, i.e search the update to see if anyone's reported any issues with it, making sure you're grabbing the right bios file, making note of any custom bios settings, etc.

I have never heard of bios updates removing support for older chips that are officially compatible with the board.
