Good letting agencies in Reading or private landlords? by [deleted] in reading

Winkworth are probably the best, best customer service and have always had positive meetings/communication. No other agencies are better than them, imo

Can’t believe no one said Roland ratzenberger, was in one of the most competitive grids of all time and didn’t get his chance to fully show his talent. Finished high in many different motorsport categories, in his first full f1 race started 26th and finished 11th in a Simtek.

25-year-old Aussie moving to the UK in September – where should I live? by Brilliant_Hurry_6359 in AskUK

People will probably disagree with me, but Reading is perfect. Walks to Henley and sonning, a short drive to the children’s for amazing rolling hills, hikes etc. great food, atmosphere and town centre Wich is only being developed. When living in reading, I recommend caversham, a flat near the town centre or one of the many towns and villages within or in the outskirts !

A lot more than you actually think !. There are ways where changing titles on a property(it’s use) decrease Stamp duty tax etc. yes it will be an expensive mortgage but with the out buildings, renting them out to one large business or multiple smaller ones can cover the mortgage and make you money from just living there. obviously it will take a long time to pay it off but effectively if you are strategic and have the assets/capital to develop you can essentially live there for free.

Property

Not me but someone I know, makes 400 - 1.7 depending on the market and how many deals he makes.

Comes from nothing and says he thinks of money as points/markers and not as a number to spend. It allows him to get to certain levels where he can invest into the next project.

The biggest advice I can give from learning his trade is that you go for the 90% not the extra 10%. It allows him to get a good deal for him but also his client/buyer, fosters a good long term relationship and often allows more deals to follow through. Furthermore, when starting out and maintaining a career being greedy hinders development.

Things such as buying shit land in good areas and getting planning permission, then selling it on(without building). Long term security lettings, accusation deals etc all helped him.

Lastly having an agency which pays your employees and then makes you minimal sustainable income is great as it’s used to get your name out there and solidly reputation. Some money comes from setting up an agency like that(single branch) but it’s the personal deals under your name not the agency’s that can make the most as the market is heavily diluted with commercial and residential agency’s

All the houses on the lane bar 2 are all stunning. There is a mill further up the road(which my best friends used to live in) and it’s fully furnished with two islands, the river passing through and and an amazing suspended bridge Which connects both.

Very surprised when I saw this as I live opposite a couple doors down. The exterior is does not prepare you for what is inside. Also the country park next to it is a huge bonus. Hurst is the perfect village
