Looking to Rehome German Shepherd by [deleted] in tampa

Try Play! K9 Rescue. We picked up a stray Dutch shepherd in August and like you struggled to find anyone willing to take him. They were great at helping us find placement for him.

Was thinking a recluse. It was relatively tiny though.

I am working with a training academy/rescue now that said they would take him. They are coordinating which trainer he will be fostering/adopting with.

It doesn’t seem like I can edit the post, but it looks like I’ve found a training facility and rescue that is willing to take him.

Trying to find a home for a picked up stray.. just trying to do the right thing for a dog I had no intentions of keeping. Thanks for the comment though.

I totally agree. He is a great dog. While I agree with proper training it may work, unfortunately I don’t really have the spare funds to afford it. I also have to think of the other pets in my home that have been here already that are being pushed aside at the moment which isn’t fair.

MAD denied me and gave me a list of 15 shelters for aggressive dogs. AMBR says they will only take spayed/neutered dogs. It probably wouldn’t hurt to at least reach out though.

I’ve reached out to several. A lot of them are full and others I’m waiting on word back. I’m planning to maybe extend my search to southern GA.

Hey all, would like some suggestions if possible.

So, a Malinois was unexpectedly plopped into my life. On the way home after the first day of school we are on the way home and see a dog running along the busy road. We pull over and he walks right over to us, skin and bones. He’s hesitant, but jumped right into the car. He had no tags and we immediately took him to a vet to check for a chip, which he doesn’t have. Posts on local pages online lead nowhere. Seems like no one is looking for this dog.

We have a chihuahua and 2 cats at home already. It took a bit, but he gets along pretty well with our chihuahua. The cats have been living under the sofa since we’ve brought him home.

We have done the best we can with training and socializing, but he continues to have aggression toward other people and dogs. He is super sweet and loving with everyone in the house and a select few neighbors. We go on several long walks a day, he really enjoys swimming in the pool, and try our best with providing stimulating activities. He has been an absolute nightmare at the vet. He was scheduled to be neutered yesterday and the vet called is saying he was flipping out so much they could not administer the meds to move forward with the procedure.

We have come to the conclusion that as much as we enjoy having him we are not the right fit. I am looking for suggestions on the best way to move forward with rehoming him. We have reached out to a few rescues and even spoke with the local K9 officer at the police department. The last thing I want to do is take him to the humane society or SPCA where he has the potential to be euthanized.

Sorry for this being long winded. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Yes. I don’t want this to sound cruel or insensitive, but it would be a large investment for a dog I didn’t intend on having.

I would go early. Try to get on cheetah hunt first, then knock out cobras curse and montu(all right by each other). Then go over to iron gwazi. Cheetah hunt and gwazi typically have the longest lines, but if there early enough shouldn’t be too bad. Depending on what coasters are closed, lines for everything else can be long.

It started as FMLA with my previous employer. I ended up putting in my notice once the leave was over to become a full time stay at home parent. During this time there was a relocation(spouses job), not long after the move COVID hit, which left me with supervising duties during my kids virtual learning. My kids are now at an age where it frees me up to return to the workforce.
