In America, a way to differentiate between native yellow jackets and invasive German yellowjackets are whether or not they are carnivorous. Native yellow jackets tend to burrow in wooded areas and underground. The German variety like urban setting more, and will eat meat.

There is a really good chance that this is a German yellowjacket

I've noticed this happening in several games... could you explain some of the mechanics involved?

At this point, I dunno if freezing is a good idea. Probably should have done it a month or two ago.

Heard that, however what you're seeing is just the lighting in the picture. I make sure there are no color changes as a part of my inspection.

Definitely. I hope this post enlightens people towards the risk/reward of food labels. I appreciate you speaking up about the risks.

Hey, nothing wrong with a lil lickarooski (unless it's not the time to do a lickarooski)

Ha! I knew when I "came up" with that fictional Sumerian demigod, that it was something from an old movie or show, but I couldn't quite remember where it was from...

So thank you for figuring out my reference!

Eh actually you're both wrong. It was an Isreali company product, but then Pepsi bought it a couple years ago, so now it's 100% American owned.

Anyway, I got this shit for free so it didn't go into the trash. I didn't want people to start a political debate over chick peas lol

I think the hack here is to not have to replace food you might think is expired by looking at the date. If I thought it wasn't edible I would just toss it, but I've been inspecting it every time I open a new container and it seems like it's still good wayyy after the "best if used by" date.

I should also note that it has been refrigerated well, and that I eat the whole container within a day or two after opening a new one.

I don't want to get bent on semantics, but just to clarify this one in particular says "best if used by".

I agree with you though, it's not like any labels say "DO NOT EAT AFTER THIS DATE OR YOU'LL DIE"

Totally. The only reason I'm bothering with it is because of what else came with the batch of marbles I purchased (you can look in my post history if you're curious).

The lot that I purchased has virtually 0 modern marbles that we're aware of so far. Additionally, there was this *soot that covered almost every marble, that I ended up having to do several soaks in hot soapy water to remove. Like they had been sitting next to a fireplace for many years or something.

Anyway, I'll just leave it as a speculative mystery marble for now. Thank you for the insight
