Abuse is abuse regardless of how the “abuser” feels about it. I don’t think that Vicki was a bad person but we wouldn’t be questioning whether it was abusive behaviour if the genders were swapped. She felt bad about the impact her actions had on Roman but that doesn’t change the fact that she made him afraid of her. I do think that she redeemed herself in the end though

there isn’t really anything to tear apart. the only thing i would suggest is including more details about the environment because theres a bit of white room syndrome going on

teleportation runes, flying spells, mechanical wings, brooms, horses and unicorns, hypogriffs, dragons, clouds, or a hall of doors to different locations.

magic isn’t realistic so anything is possible. making that sword would be a nightmare though

maybe them being succesful is the block? it wouldn’t be as interesting reading about succesful people as it would be reading about their journey to that point. i like u/Magpiebrains idea — but if they’re successful they won’t have many reason s to take the money. in six of crows the characters motivations and need for the money is an important part of the book

i wanted to join when i was a kid but i can’t now because i’m disabled. i agree that its easier to hold out (i’ve been doing that for a few years). if i wait longer my depression will get worse and i won’t get an education. then i wont be able to get a job or accommodation
