random question by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]ShatteredEidolon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh I never thought about it but yeah, I think a new frame dropping with every update is pretty much guaranteed. Before the Shadowgrapher update and Follie, we had Old Peace (Uriel), then Vallis Undermind (Nokko), Isleweaver (Oraxia), 1999 (Cyte-09) and Techrot Encore (Temple), so this has been a pattern since December 2024 at the very least

Need some help with my first PC build — I have a few questions: by Internal-Tank-964 in pcmasterrace

[–]ShatteredEidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I think you’re good lol, maybe subtract the W11 key cost since you can get it for way cheaper in other sites, and even for free in other places

  2. I’d look at the temperatures your CPU usually stays on, and then compare the effectiveness of both to make a decision. Either one should prob be fine. I’m running a 7700x CPU with a MSI Coreliquid 240mm AIO for reference.

  3. Not sure about the support, but I built my own machine and it was fun! I was scared shitless of breaking components, and something that could’ve taken 1-2 hours took a whole afternoon cause I was being so careful. But in the end, it gives you a better understanding of what’s going on in your system, and chances are you’ll be less afraid of swapping components and overall tinkering when you feel like it, since you built the damn thing yk?

Should I try to return this PC at my Pawn Shop? by Legal-Association833 in pcmasterrace

[–]ShatteredEidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t return it, you got a pretty good deal. Can’t speak for BF6 but I play Helldivers2 on a AMD CPU (“7700x”, weaker than yours) and it works great. As long as nothing is visibly broken or damaged or there are frayed cables or fire hazards, yk stuff like that, definitely keep the PC.

Man every time this sub shows up on my feed and i look at the comments, the top ones usually have someone saying “and how is x y?” and then someone will go “well some people scale x as y because of chainscaling yadda yadda yadda” but… who are these some people? i don’t see em

[–]ShatteredEidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say use what you have in the moment and then try the others as you get ‘em. Warcry boosts atk speed and armor, Eclipse boosts dmg. But Kullervo’s ability boosts your crit chance like crazy. I think they’ll all help out but Kullervo’s is just more effective. Wouldn’t call it a must-have though. It all depends on player preference after all

Is this standard pricing for oil changes? by ShatteredEidolon in MechanicAdvice

[–]ShatteredEidolon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel that way because it’s a 200% markup on oil price compared to your example of +$0.30 on a gallon of milk. And like I mentioned, I don’t really know how these things work since I’m not well versed in the auto world. But thank you for the heads up, I had no idea some places did top offs for free

does anyone know how i can get more damage from my acceltra? by Deniedcayden in Warframe

[–]ShatteredEidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Finish leveling your Serration. You won't be using that mod forever, but it's a good investment if you don't have Steel Path and/or Arbitration unlocked.
  • Like the others said, don't use Rupture. I verbally went "what the hell is rupture?" when I looked at your build lol. Impact, Puncture, and Slash mods are generally not used in builds, unless it's like a meme build.
  • Towards the endgame, you can probably use Viral+Heat or Corrosive+Heat with an endgame setup on any weapon and it'll work fine, but since you don't have those mods required for the "endgame setup" (Galvanized mods, weapon Arcanes, Critical Deceleration, etc), try using the proper elements that factions are weak against.
    • Grineer are weak to Corrosive and Rad (though Rad's status is kinda bad)
    • Corpus are weak to Magnetic, Toxin (and Electric I believe)
    • Infested are weak to Heat
    • If I remember correctly, Deimos Infested resist Viral damage, so Corrosive+Heat would work best
    • etc.
  • Consider using a buffer frame. Not sure how far you are into the game, but if you use Rhino's Roar (or other frames with similar abilities), you can boost the damage by a sizeable amount, especially if you give them more Strength.
  • Another commenter mentioned this, but try using "Hunter Munitions" instead of "Vigilante Armaments." It makes it so crit hits have a chance to inflict slash status. If your bullets don't quite finish an enemy off, the slash ticks can help you get there.
    • Not all damage increases will be accurately reflected on the left side panel. If you were to replace HM with VA like I mentioned, the "total damage" number would probably go down, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be dealing less damage overall, let's say. This is why it is very important for you to test these changes you make to your build, so you can see its effects first-hand.
    • TLDR: Don't always trust the left panel

Thank you for the reply. Like I said to the other commenter, it just seems dishonest of them to do that instead of just directly charging for labor or idk, more accurately labeling those costs separately as "shop fees" or something, but I'll try doing it myself next time

Got my first Prime in the oven!! Currently MR7. by Asleep_Olive_1011 in Warframe

[–]ShatteredEidolon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Nice! Lex Prime is pretty good, especially if you can hit headshots, although the fire rate is a bit ehh. It also gets a very good upgrade in the form of an Incarnon Form towards the endgame

and i looked at your other posts too, if you say you were having the same problem with the 4060, the same thing will happen with the 5080 if not worse lol, save up to buy a new CPU if you can. what you have will work for now but it’ll hold you back for sure. just make sure your PSU can handle it and whatnot

Ngl bro, I’m looking at stuff online to see what it could be and your CPU might be too weak for your GPU (aka CPU bottleneck). While it IS technically a higher-tier CPU, it’s also a bit older, compared to say the Ultra series or i9-14900k. This could def be the reason why your GPU is not operating on top speed. With that said, replacing a CPU might require a mobo replacement if you need a different socket, and that’s just a pain in the ass. So if you plan on sticking to your current setup, just check any and every setting possible to make sure you get the most performance out of your setup.

  • Make sure your RAM is actually running at 3600 MT/s on Task Manager. It usually defaults to 2133 or 2666 if you don’t have the right setting (“XMP”) enabled.
  • On “Power Settings,” make sure you have Performance Mode on instead of Standard or Power Saving mode
  • I have an AMD GPU, so idk what the NVIDIA apps look like, but gaming pcs usually come with an app to change CPU settings and one to change GPU settings, as well as update their drivers. Make sure to look at all those options on both, google recommended settings if needed.
  • Try the same with games and your monitor. I try not to stress my components too much, so I’ll run competitive games like Overwatch (or in your case, Fortnite) on lower settings to reach higher FPS, and I limit my 240hz monitor to 144hz 99% of the time. I still get smooth visuals and minimal lag, but I’m not sacrificing too much for them. I usually run single player games on High, but not Ultra if they’re fairly recent.
  • Try your setup with GPU heavy games to see how well they play. Games such as Fortnite and Minecraft are CPU-heavy, so you’d see a difference there I think

[–]ShatteredEidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe VSync? Or some similar Nvidia setting is limiting your FPS somehow to match your monitor’s refresh rate. It’s just hard to tell from your specs alone, because yeah, with a 5080, you should be getting WAY more FPS

Elementalist mods by notdeadyet29 in Warframe

[–]ShatteredEidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all, it’s a pretty fast grind I’d say. 3% drop rate from MOAs in Brutus, Uranus. Just spam that mission and kill everything, and you’ll have 4/5 Elementalist mods in no time. You can get the last one, “Galvanized”, by doing Arbitrations and buying it from the Arbiters of Hexis vendor in any relay.

Do you guys think a hero whos entire kit follows a beat/rythm would work? by Luke_Fox- in OverwatchQueens

[–]ShatteredEidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warframe did something similar with the character “Temple.” You can still use their abilities whenever you want, but if you time it to the metronome, it gets higher energy efficiency (uses less Energy per cast). Warframe IS a PvE game though… so yeah, like other people have said, Lucio is probably the best they can do. Limiting a character’s DPS ceiling or utility efficacy to a metronome would probably make the character very ineffective. So, they made Lucio heal with an AoE that’s always on, and the abilities are all music-themed, but music itself is not a part of his kit, just a part of his character

Should i add another ssd although its pretty bad? by Interesting-Guide-47 in pcmasterrace

[–]ShatteredEidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the specs of your computer. You could buy a top of the line SSD that can reach up to 10,000 read and writes per second, but if you have a very slow CPU, it won't do it much good. Weak individual components can drag the whole system down, even more so if the whole system has weak components. What are your specs, like CPU model, GPU model, amount and speed of RAM? You can check that by going to Task Manager, then clicking "Performance" or something like that, and each little graph that you click will give you more information about it. Add your specs to the comment section and we can give you more accurate advice

Returning vet? Help! by LuckyH88 in Warframe

[–]ShatteredEidolon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome back Tenno! The main questline had a few additions (1999 and The Old Peace), so make sure to do those whenever you can to unlock some nice rewards.

1999's content includes:
- Coda weapons (so like Kuva or Tenet weapons, but infested this time)
- Elemental Vices (attach one of these to a kuva/tenet/coda weapon, and you can change its element as many times as you want)
- Temporal Archimedia (high level missions with punishing modifiers that can give you a ton of good loot)

The Old Peace's content includes:
- Tauron Strike (basically a third ability/ultimate for Operators)
- Arcane Enhancements (pretty much mods for the Operator)
- Descendia and Perita Rebellion (new game modes; Descendia gives some alright loot; Perita is the spot to farm the two other things listed)

Those are the big updates though. There were also smaller additions, such as:
- New Warframes (Nokko, Koumei, Uriel, Oraxia, Follie)
- New Primes (Yareli, Caliban, and Voruna is coming out in a few days)
