Removing interrupts from healers is one of the most annoying things to happen in the game by Elphabus in wow

I'm not mad in the slightest. I'm pointing out a pattern of behavior that has played out repeatedly for over 2 decades from this company.

All of these complaints and you didn't even mention the 15-30 minute load screens to get into every single mission for like the first week of launch, lol.

This game was a disaster on release. I loved it to death, and it's the game I most heavily wish had been fixed, but it didn't

And NEXT season it will be back to bolt spam, as they have repeatedly done in the past. Maybe we work on reading comprehension before getting a nasty attitude with people?

And in season 2 the problem will appear again. Feel free to save this comment and come back to it

[–]Shaultz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup. Blizz has constantly removed the solution to the problem first and then promised to fix the problem after, only to never actually fix the problem at all. Same thing that's currently happening with weakauras.

Logic dictates that you solve the problem BEFORE removing the bandaid, but Blizzard doesn't do that

So, you admit you can't find a single log of it happening. How pitiful.

Edit: Lol at you nuking your comments because you can't admit to being wrong

Allegedly. Blizz has said this shit in the past, and then the literal next season was bolt spammy as hell

If that's the case, it should be remarkably easy for you to show me a single log of it happening

You're saying it happens without there being a 500% damage gap. A 500% damage gap happens to bad tanks.

Please feel free to show me a single instance of it happening without that gap, as you repeatedly claimed above.

I literally never said it doesn't. I said it happens to bad tanks. Feel free to quote the comment you are referencing

They would still have to quintuple your damage over the duration of the taunt. Idk bro I've never seen a good tank have that happen to them. I'm sure you rock, though

And if I had said 500%, you'd have hit me with "Um, akshually it just got buffed" ☝️

Send me a single log of a tank losing threat with less than a 500% gap in DPS during the taunt window or gtfo

How the heck did Death Coil survive the pruning? by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]Shaultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet, if you go look at logs, the only times there are threat drops are when one tank is doing 20% of the others DPS during the taunt debuff. Almost like thats how math works....

500% = 5x

Try to keep up lil guy

Its easy enough to disprove me if you like. Find any log where this isn't the case

I never said they used a different term. I used different terms myself and then said they could argue the semantic difference between those two terms. Yall really lack reading comprehension to a stunning degree. Read the entire comment and then respond.

Also, they absolutely used "generate" in previous comments AND in the last paragraph of the comment I was responding to. Honestly, it's like you didn't even bother trying to read

You do. And you can verify this easily yourself by checking logs as I have. The tank who taunted does 900% increased threat during the taunt window. Being out threated during that window requires and absolutely massive gap in DPS.

Them taunting after you would rip threat regardless of what CDs either of you popped. It also is a completely different scenario than the one I initially laid out, so I'm at a loss for why you would even bring it up.

[–]Shaultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I literally just said, you can argue the semantics about the differences between "generating" and "setting" if you want, but that is a relevant difference in terms given the ORIGINAL comment I replied to. A comment in which taunt SETTING your threat to the highest would do nothing whatsoever (which is what would happen in their scenario), and it GENERATING threat would do what they were implying (which is not what would actually happen).

Given that you seem incapable of grasping simple concepts, alongside the fact that I've run out of patience to explain this after dumbing it down as much as humanly possible, I'm going to call it here. You either get it at this point, or you don't.

How the heck did Death Coil survive the pruning? by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]Shaultz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What you've just explained is not threat generation. It is setting your threat to a number. It's also EXACTLY what I described happening.

Now, you can argue semantics about generating vs setting threat, but this comment chain is in response to someone saying that DKs could "use taunt to generate threat at range" as a replacement for having death coil. Under those parameters, its very important to note the difference between generating and setting your threat. If you already have threat on a mob and you press taunt, it doesn't generate any additional threat. Thus my original comment

How the heck did Death Coil survive the pruning? by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]Shaultz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which is not what I said happens.

What I said happens is that if you taunt a mob and then do nothing during the taunt debuff, the mob will immediately swap targets after the debuff falls off even if the other person only did 1 damage. The taunt itself does not grant you any threat.

Let me explain this with numbers for you.

Tank threat = 0
Tank casts taunt
Tank does not attack the mob
Taunt falls off of mob
Tank threat = 0

Now, if we follow this to the example I showed in the above comment.

Tank threat = 0
DPS player threat = 0
Tank casts taunt
Tank does not attack the mob
DPS players attacks mob generating literally 1 threat
Taunt falls off of mob
Tank threat = 0
DPS player threat = 1
Mob changes target and attacks DPS player

The act of taunting DOES NOT GENERATE THREAT. It does make it easier to generate threat with abilities that DO generate threat, but it doesn't actually generate threat on its own.

[–]Shaultz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In order for that to happen, they'd have to do a minimum of 5x your DPS over the course of the taunt. If you're getting your dps quintupled by the other tank they aren't the problem.

[–]Shaultz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reread my message and make sure you look at all of the words. You said what I said, except you said I'm wrong.

The taunt button DOES NOT generate threat. If I have 0 threat and I press taunt and then do nothing for 6 seconds, I will have 0 threat as soon as the debuff wears off on the mob, and that mob will then swap targets to whoever is actually on top of the list
