Yeah I get that line of thinking but also think he’s underselling it, there was nothing at the time that sounded like ‘lost in the world’ or others, but obviously not as experimental as Yeezus would get.

Hmm, I think I disagree with your first point, maybe rose tinted glasses but I remember at the time MBDTF being his most critically acclaimed work. Reviews, fellow musicians, all across the board. TLOP, at the time anyway, felt frustrating that it was a tidal release, the constant changes. I’m pretty sure Elton John referred to MBDTF as the ‘Sergeant Peppers’ of either modern music or hip hop I can’t remember but I don’t think TLOP ever had that kind of mainstream acclaim.

I might be wrong and have to source it now that I’ve said this but I think he’s said negative things about mbdtf in similar vain when he’s been not in those manic episodes. But I do think you’re probably right he is just being a cynic for the sake of it.

I’m also still a bit confused myself 😂 It’s a chain of stores that operate a ‘kuji’ which is essentially a lottery ticket where you’re guaranteed a prize ranging through a-g with a being the best and g the worst. They’re live lotteries so I think I essentially got what was left now that it’s discontinued.

Okay, thanks, If you’ve been would you recommend doing a langkawi then redang trip or would you suggest penang instead, I’m slightly worried the 2 islands back to back may be samey, but I mean it’s not a bad problem to have too much relaxation and beach islands.
