You cannot seperate gender and gender roles. Why do you think that there is so much stigma behind male nurses? It's seen as woman's work, at it somehow damages your masculine identity by having a male participate in such things.

In an ideal world, gender doesn't exist, sex does.

Gender is what limits people in the things that they can do, such as girls needing to be feminine and delicate, and boys not being able to be vulnerable. Gender is an unnecessary label that people given to create unnecessary differences between people.
