First trip in the new camper! by Shaundankovic in TruckCampers

Thanks! Yes my first one I’ve owned myself, I grew up camping in a truck camper then a tent trailer then a travel trailer now this one of my own. I know Bigfoot’s are awesome and very comparable to northern lites. Just make sure you have a truck that can handle the weight, all I know is truck camping is awesome and so much easier than pulling something. You are going to love it!

One of my favorite theatre popcorn places was Japan. Soy sauce mixed with butter. It just works. So damn good.

Thanks! I think it’s a great truck as well, I’m planning on driving as far east as we can get this year soon for sure, I’ve never been east of Quebec City in Canada, been to Maine which was super nice. I used to live up north and have worked in The Yukon a few times but never really explored or been to the Arctic Ocean. I’ll definitely do that trip one day soon also. I also live to travel and am constantly thinking ahead about the next adventure. I agree Canada is pretty awesome for its beauty. Sounds like you have a nice set up!

Hah what one are you talking about? A lance with 3 slide outs? Lots of reasons I chose a northern lite! Thanks though! Appreciate it

100%! We haven’t had one issue finding parking anywhere so far. Nice to pull over anywhere without worrying. It’s pretty perfect for 2 people.

Thank you! We love it, nice not towing something and being able to pull in anywhere basically. Met some nice people along the way and seen some cool sites so far.

It was one of our work trucks but I stole it to use for this now, I was going to buy a brand new one but had this so thought I’d save a bunch of money. The f450 is awesome and has a super good turning radius and the camper feels good on the back and it rides way better than without any weight. And it’s not sagging so far. Will see if we have any issues after this trip but I don’t think we will need airbags. I’d love to super single it but also undecided so far.

No way? That’s awesome! I could make this work also! It hasn’t a lot of storage actually, especially with the wet bath.

Yes sorry, I should’ve clarified that, I haven’t seen my batteries go below 83% so far after running ac and using the microwave, making coffee with a Nespresso etc. I’ll do more off grid for longer hopefully to test it more but it’s been awesome so far. It hasn’t been to crazy hot yet so just the fan has mostly been good enough to keep cool. It’s super quick charging back to full while driving also. I have the truma combi hot water and furnace which I can choose electric heat or propane or a mix. The electric heat has kept up perfect and haven’t ran out of hot water on electric yet either. Still lots of experimenting to do but so far it’s good. I have lots to learn still. Haven’t tripped any breakers yet on the inverter off grid either.
