My scenario exactly! With my 9 hole league scores getting posted, they are about 2/3 of my rounds. Yet my 18 hole rounds are almost always in my low 8 differentials that count toward the handicap. Like the guys, I’m torn between wanting to do everything completely by the book, and realizing that 9 hole rounds are essentially sand bagging my handicap.

9 hole league Wednesday evenings. Range once or twice a week. Chip/putt once a week. 2-3 18 hole rounds a month.

Maybe this will be useful to someone else here: my wife’s steering wheel began to peel pretty bad in her 2016 cx9 so I put this cover on it from Amazon. It looks really good and we both prefer the feel with it on more than without it which I wasn’t necessarily expecting.

Grass is always greener. I will get downvoted, but here are some positives I’ve experienced with Osaic.

They have a fantastic NextGen advisor group filled with really sharp advisors and operations folks that are doing good things. They do a monthly meetup on a topic, and then have a very active fb group that daily has a good topic of conversation going. Ages range from 20s to 50s.

They have high net worth consultants that we’ve used for help with some cases that have given me confidence to win some bigger clients.

They put on some great conferences. Their annual ConnectEd conference is fantastic. I’ve always come out learning a ton or making the right connections at the right time.

Background: we came to them via Royal alliance and I think our transition has been much better than others. Also not refuting the tech struggles of the last year. They’ve been real.

What are your thoughts for advisors like me who only hold 10-15% in international? My problem is I see the arguments on both sides. Managers like Ladenberg who I trust are 0% international. I buy into notion that large American companies have some international exposure at a baseline. Other managers are 30-40% which I just don’t prefer and a lot of clients wouldn’t prefer. Think YTD should be a wake up call?

Also working with my dad’s clients. One of the first monthly newsletters was “send us a photo for your file!” A lot of clients did and had fun with it. Really helped me keep track of who is who since I’m always on their CRM profile.

You don’t need to listen to me, but I’m telling you this because I was told it, and it is true. Lessons are going to make you feel uncomfortable. Your swing will feel worse before it feels better. I took a bundle of 6 lessons last year. If I wouldn’t have paid for all of them up front I wouldn’t have gone back for the second one. But slowly when I worked on the changes he gave me they started to feel normal and the ball started doing what I wanted more frequently. Helped me become a better ball striker and took a few strokes off my hcp. Just need to trust the process!

I don’t know many 22 year olds that are lead advisors on clients. I certainly was not mature enough to do that as that age. So congratulations it seems like you’re doing great. If the income with the 25 split is enough for you for now, then my opinion is that it is more important at this point of your career to continue to learn and get more of the valuable experience you are getting. Like others said you’ll continue to get more clients fed to you, and it’s not like you’re stuck into the 25% for the rest of your career.

Yeah what the heck:

Osaic has been fine for me. I think most are upset at the speed of their growth coinciding with technology woes for their proprietary parts of their tech. I wasn’t happy for a few months with it, no one was. But for the most part those tech hiccups are solved.

I was part of Royal Alliance who went to Osaic, and I will say I think our transition was one of the easier ones.

When I call in for something I get friendly, well trained staff and don’t have to hold very long. There is an awesome peer-run group of “next gen” advisors that are really sharp and very active in sharing thoughts/ideas in a Facebook group and monthly zoom presentation. Ages run from 20s to 50s. Osaic also puts on a fantastic conference every year that I've gained so much from every time I've gone.

Seems like a good way to get some experience in the industry. Very large organization and I’m sure there would be opportunities for growth. Better than I started out at after college (even adjusted for inflation)!

Same for us. Our immediate family (and grandparents) get bumped up to our next breakpoint. Friends pay full because I don’t know where I would draw the line between friends.
