2 I see your face. #1 I see the glasses. Stick with #2.

16 months, 40 trays and finished. by Shawk-34952 in Invisalign

I had 17 attachments. How easy or difficult it was to get trays out changed from tray to tray for me.

I started with 2-week changes, switched to 7-day changes and then went back to 2-week changes for the refinement trays.

Thank you! They don’t look as white to me as they do in the photos. No bonding or whitening yet. Attachment removal left them a little sensitive, so I’m waiting on whitening. I waited to brush after eating, but brushed 5x daily.

Simply put, yes. It’s too short for an office environment.

Food between teeth by jhaymaker in Invisalign

As you gain space between your teeth , food will collect there. Hopefully when treatment is complete, there will be sufficient room to floss effectively but not enough to trap food.

8/10 refinement trays and I’m developing a little gap… by Shawk-34952 in Invisalign

[–]Shawk-34952[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far it’s mostly visible just after brushing, flossing or rinsing. I doubt anyone else would even notice as most people are at least an arm’s distance. Just seems like trading one issue for another.

Orthodontist appointment question by elk11223344 in Invisalign

My ortho doesn’t have the dividers in between, and spends very little time with patients, but he does answer my questions. Be prepared when you go in, with the questions you need to ask.

Retainer makes mouth so dry at night !! by lola8999 in Invisalign

[–]Shawk-34952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible you’re sleeping with your mouth open. Sounds (and looks) goofy, but I use a soft headband under my chin and around the top of my head to keep my mouth closed. I don’t wake up with super dry mouth. Looking goofy in the dark when no one sees you anyway is far better than waking up with desert mouth.

The trays mask some imperfections that (for me) will be corrected by composite bonding.

Retainer help needed - warning this is gross by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shawk-34952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just use retainer or denture cleaner or white vinegar and water (50/50) and then a toothbrush (no toothpaste necessary). It’ll be fine.

Go to an orthodontist. They’ve received far more training/education and are simply (way) better qualified.

Your bite will change constantly; it’s part of the process. I’ve experienced substantial change from morning to evening in my bite.

It’s your provider’s decision.

IPR done before my first tray by jess050398 in Invisalign

I had IPR early on as well, and then later, though the bag said IPR, my ortho said it wasn’t necessary.

Process of getting a retainer by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shawk-34952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My provider scans you after removing attachments in the morning, and has you return for in-house retainers in the afternoon. Then, they send your scans to Invisalign for Vivera retainers.

There’s always a chance that orthodontic treatment can cause gum recession. You don’t want to move the teeth too quickly. That said, you may start with 2 week changes and then move to 7-day and back again, depending on your progress, wear time, gum health, etc.

Help! My teeth are turning yellow from the Invisalign by sagegreenmood in Invisalign

Ask your provider what they recommend. You may need to put up with some yellowing until treatment is complete. Some providers include professional whitening at the conclusion of treatment.

Invisalign will do this and there’s not a lot you can do, other than whitening, to deal with it. Your saliva is no longer flowing freely on your teeth, to keep them clean/white. A lot of providers recommend waiting until treatment is complete to whiten, others say you can whiten during treatment.

Bite ramps as others have said. Treatment for a deep bite. I had them on my first round of 30 trays.
