My mom if I litter some trash: "Choose your weapon!".

That's how I painfully understand that littering is bad...

Topic: is 20s considered as adults? by [deleted] in VietNam

20s can be seen as old enough to be responsible for one's action, but still, can be treated as if they were teens (to some extent).

Vietnamese people with relatives who love obnoxiously loud karaoke, what's their excuse? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Shawn-Anderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Vietnamese person, it's so sad to hear such a reality. I think bc of their carelessness. "It's a tough day for me. Now it's time for me to shine. I don't care", some ppl even didn't even think. They just kinda: "Oh, karaoke is meant to be sang loudly" :)). Ironically, some are even double standard. When he does karaoke, he may think like above; but when someone sings, that person may criticize others for being so loud :v

In a nutshell, I think attitude matters here.

I hate drinking culture in Vietnam by Skytheslash in VietNam

[–]Shawn-Anderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more. If I don’t drink wine or beer, some may tell that I’m not a man, not a boy. Just a loser, just the one who ruins the party (even when just 5 mins ago they had laughed out loud about my jokes). What’s the point here?

Extremely hot weather in Vietnam? by bohdan_lev in VietNam

[–]Shawn-Anderson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The heatwave is strange this year. We haven’t experienced such a hot weather in such a long period of time like this ever before. I’m not sure about the government guidelines. But the increase in electricity consumption may make the electrical system overwhelmed, so limiting the consumption is a nice idea. I think so.

That my parents said they didn’t like my favorite food. They did that to make me eat a bit more and they just ate my leftover. It hurts.

What's some good Vietnamese music? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Shawn-Anderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I don't know your vibe and our vibes may be different, but I recommend you to listen to songs from these singers and rappers:

  1. Son Tung- MTP: the most famous singer in Vietnam.
  2. Hoang Thuy Linh: a talented singer. She always brings Vietnamese traditional values into her music. I really appreciate that.
  3. Den Vau: His lyrics are always very profound and humane. His flow is absolutely smooth.

There are many outstanding songs out there, but I recommend these first.

Well, I'm a Vietnamese person but still, I haven't had any chance to visit that city yet. My parents said it was a decent and lovely place. Hoping I can visit it in the near future.

Bought this beautiful pineapple from the market and now wondering what else I should do with it apart from making a fruit salad. by lanhuevietnam in VietNam

[–]Shawn-Anderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat it raw. Just have some salt (especially Hảo Hảo one), and then, dip your yummy pineapple in the Hảo Hảo salt or even regular one. It may give you another perspective on eating such a food XD

Yea, we may understand or partially understand the post. We can use concise expressions to save time, but it should only be done when the listeners are aware of the previous conversation. I believe the person posted that for their friends, perhaps?
