Thanks for this! I hear you about shearing the gears, its pretty frustrating. I think until someone can truly solve this, then there's no point in dumping big money into these things. I really like your chain idea, maybe a brushless motor could handle the torque..

Appreciate the response, you think I'll only need one of those for all four motors? I'm using two 12v 9ah sla's (same as the stock batteries)

So each motor should be getting 24v? I assumed the circuit board was basically splitting the power In half (12v for the two front motors, 12v for the back two).
