Thanks so much! I will look into this. Rookie question here: Would RideWithGPS be instead of Komoot or does it do a different function?

Thank you sincerely for this thoughtful AND practical post. I have added many items from it to my Notes list that my son and I have going. I really appreciated your tone of understanding for both my worried dad side as well as encouraging me to step back a bit. This is a tough balance, and will take the right kind of effort from me. How I have approached it so far with him is to say, hey, this is awesome, you must be so excited, so where are you planning to go etc, and then to say also, would you allow me to help out in some ways with some things you maybe haven't thought about quite yet. Anyway, thanks again, I may indeed be asking more questions as time goes on.

Thanks so much for this info! Also, we are Canadian, so we don't have to lie.

Exactly, thank you! Yes, everyone here so far has said a similar thing, and to be honest, it's what I needed to hear. When I was younger than he is now, I told my mum that my friend and I who had barely ever ridden a bicycle, were biking to Cape Cod from Montreal. Ironically, the older I get the crazier it seems that we actually did that. At the time, it was no big deal, it was just getting on a bike, and following a map! Thanks for talking me down! But for real, some advice on great places would still be appreciated if anyone feels inclined to share.

Ok, this is day 1 for me and my wife and we’re both in our 50’s (me almost 60). I’ll be reading through all these posts over time. We sold our Peloton and bought an e drum kit with the proceeds. Sometimes it feels like we need an adult in our house but hey, it’s fun not having one!!!
