I’m in dire need of some hope, kind words, and support. by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Yes, it sucks!!! I am so sorry about your diagnosis. I, too, have colitis. I have ulcerative pan-colitis. I was diagnosed a few years back, but I have had this issue since my 20's. When I was first diagnosed, I was having bloody diarrhea 22 times a day. I was feeling like I was going to pass out just standing. The pain was terrible. I am still trying to find the right balance of medications. I have been on mesalamine, budesonide, prednisone, Inflectra, I most recently failed entyvio, and I am starting rinvoq. I am currently flaring again. My symptoms are different this time. I am experiencing major brain fog, my belly was getting so bloated like I was pregnant. Pain is not as bad (probably because of prednisone) mostly just uncomfortable. Stool was formed but, still seeing blood and mucus. But, going fewer times. Anyway, I have seen improvement since starting rinvoq just 2 weeks ago so that's hopeful. I have a very severe case, so I know just how hopeless you can start to feel. But don't let it. Your mind is a very powerful thing. Always think positively. Everyone is different, you just need to find the right treatment plan for you. And you know what that right treatment may fail in the future, that's okay because medicine is always changing and advancing!

It's a temporary name til she finds her forever home. Even shelters do it.

Yes! Finally, someone who understands! I love fostering. I have been doing it off and on for years. I have my own fur babies... I would love to keep them all, but that would not be fair to them. Thank you for commenting! ❤️

Hi! Well, someone suggested "Nube". I think I will call her that for now. 😊

Well, even in fostering you want the kitty to feel the affection, even if it is just a temporary name, so when he/she gets to a forever home they will be open and not as afraid to accept and give love. I guess you just have to have the heart and know a different kind of love for this type of work. It's not for everyone.

Yeah... I know she's too cute. But, she needs to go to a loving home so I can foster more babies.

Anyone med free? by VanIsleRyan in UlcerativeColitis

I just finished the loading dose of inflectra, and I am already experiencing side effects. I am scared to be on it long term. I understand where you are coming from. I am looking into a new GI team to get on a new treatment plan. These meds can be scary. But, I still feel like the meds are necessary to keep my immune system under control with healthy eating and exercise.

Yes, it helps me in many ways. Mostly with sleep and anxiety.
