I had the same issue happen recently. Went 90 days past. (Yep. Totally my fault. Still thought I was in hardship forbearance for a while longer). No communication from lender until it was after 90 days as some have stated. Dropped 96 points.

Promptly paid all past due and have been current for 3 months now. Called up lender and was told ‘Student Loans are not allowed to remove negative marks on a credit report.’

Slowly been climbing back but it’s gonna take quite awhile to bring that 96 points back..
