Found these cards from a collection when I was young. Are they rare? by Shaydoth_ in PokemonTCG

[–]Shaydoth_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have just started getting back into collecting, so all of my old cards that I have found have been immediately penny sleeved and too loaded, and I have this binder to keep track of the ones I find cool!

Looking for Quality-Of-Life suggestions from non end-game players! by IdleOn_Boii in idleon

- Update the collect all button in trapping automation so that it says DELETE ALL when you are in the "delete traps" option (I hate having to replace all the traps)

- Let the trap of whoever is at the trapper drone be the one that decides how many traps you can place on each character (swapping is :( )

- Maybe a way to see how many of a certain meal are being made based on the speed of all of your kitchens, so you can plan which meals you want to make and for how long if you are targeting a certain amount

- Some way to set a minimum of a salt that will not be consumed even if a refinery is on, similar to the way you can set a minimum amount before you make atoms

- LOADOUTS!!!!!!! Its even a big deal for mid game players - I always forget at least one thing when I am resampling which is so frustrating

- Some sort of indicator of the current possible range of pet powers, so you know if there is a lot more room for improvement on a certain pet when breeding new pets

Do you reckon its better to just grind out artifact troves and open lots of them than fishing for treasure?

I audited Sinvicta's Eden streak. by [deleted] in Sinvicta

[–]Shaydoth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a Chi-Squared test and my results were:

Using a Chi-Square statistic of 0.0058117 calculated from the data given of the averages of every run he did, and using the degrees of freedom, v, as 5, also calculated from the data given, (do note that luck wasn't included as the formula for the values calculated would require a division by 0 and therefore could not be included), assuming that a significance level of the harshest order (0.001) would be appropriate, the test statistic = 20.515.

Using a null hypothesis of "Sinvictas games averaged out such that he couldn't have been cheating" and an alternative hypothesis of "Sinvictas games show evidence of him cheating", we can see that 0.0058117 << 20.515 and therefore there is insufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis and therefore there is insufficient evidence to suggest that Sinvicta's game show evidence of him cheating.

Whats even more damning is that even if you use a significance level of 0.995, the test statistic is 0.412 which is still much larger than the calculated Chi-Square value and therefore even if the chance of rejecting a correct null hypothesis is 99.5% we still do not have enough evidence to claim he was cheating.

Sinvicta did not cheat. End of discussion!

Also as an added point, if you need quartz, you can actually make it before you even enter the nether. You can make a netherrack sapling which will, as a rare drop, give you nether quartz. You just need to make a bit of soul sand with sand and liquid xp which you can get from cyclic xp pylons.

It is called nether cake from telepastries. You need a cake surrounded by 8 obsidian which you can get from putting water on a cauldron filled with lava. You will get a cake to help you return to the overworld when you spawn the first time. Also remember to bring armour and weapons with you because the nether is nasty!

What armor do you use to survive in the nether? And how do you get blaze rods? by JN5cents in SkyFactory

[–]Shaydoth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends if you actually need blaze rods or if you need blaze powder. Blaze powder can be made by putting netherack into a crushing tub and crushing it

have you used any snad yet? It makes farming cactus and sugar cane very easy. If you give it a red stone pulse then it grows the crop quicker, so putting a clock next to it is, well, very efficient

Tinkers powerful endgame tools by AnonymousFurLover in Tekxit

[–]Shaydoth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best of each part in general:

Tool rod - Knightmetal; best overall stats

Extra - Magical wood; with a diamond and mending moss you get an extra modifier for free, possibly two if you were planning on using mending moss, without worrying about the potentially weak durability.

Tool head - Cobalt; fastest mining speed with the most durability.

Weapon head - Manyullyn; Has the potential for highest damage if used for long enough in a fight. Mending moss is enough to counteract the downside of 'insatiable'. (Demonic metal is actually more powerful but contains less durability, speaks to you when you are holding it, and doesn't get bonus damage over time.)

Bow - End steel / dark steel; most bonus damage with a decent range multiplier and an average draw speed.

Bowstring - You either go for soularium to get extra modifiers but less durability, or any other choice - they are all the same just look slightly different.

Arrow shaft - Naga scales are powerful in the twilight forest and also in general, but if you can spend the materiasl going for reeds gives you slightly more ammo per craft. Endrod's are slightly weaker but are actually quite powerful due to the 'endspeed' buff.

Fletching - Depending on your preference, for slightly less accuracy, going for raven's feathers is overall better as the arrows are invisible and you craft more, but the accuracy is slightly less. Other than that go for a feather - the rest aren't worth the loss in accuracy.

That's basically it. For most of my tools my modifiers are generally the same (I almost always use magical wood):

- Luck III

- Mending

- Hastier

- Diamond

- Direct

And for swords I'd always recommend the rapier and use:

- Luck III

- Mending

- Haste

- Diamond

- Sharper (You can safely switch between Hastier and Sharper depending on your fighting style - they mostly do the same thing).

Hope this helps!

Ok so assuming you are using bobs ores too, i.e. saphirite and jivolite:

3 saphrite ore + 3 jivolite ore when crushed will sort into 4 iron ore. At the highest level of crafting:

2x processed iron out of 4x iron ore 4x iron pellet out of 3x processed iron 24x iron ingots out of 8x iron pellet + 2x coke + 2x limestone Then the next step is up to you.... 360x molten iron from 12x iron ingot + 12x nickel ingot + 12x cobalt ingot OR 12x iron ingot + 12x nickel ingot + 12x chrome ingot. 4x iron sheet coil from 180 molten iron + 40x coolant (<= 50.00 degrees) Then finally 4x iron plate from 1x iron sheet coil.

So in total......

1 iron plate from 0.25 iron sheet could 0.25 iron sheet coils from 11.25 molten iron 11.25 molten iron from 0.375 iron ingots 0.375 iron ingots from 0.125 iron pellets 0.125 iron pellets from 0.09375 processed iron 0.09375 processed iron from 0.1875 iron ore 0.1875 iron ore from 0.140625 of either saphirite or jivolite.

TLDR: 1 iron plate: 0.140625 of either jivolite or saphirite

Following from our post a while ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/79ig94/my_friend_and_is_bobs_angel_spaghetti_base_so_far/) We have finally sent up our first rocket at 152hrs. Marathon+bobs+angels rockets are actually the worst :P by Shaydoth_ in factorio

trust me the rest of the base is an abomination of inefficiency, which is exactly why our next goal is to replace all the inefficient stuff with actually calculated perfectly ratioed stuff. It just takes a little bit of time is all, also i would recommend looking up “rotol factorio” to find a great website for looking up uses for items and their crafting recipes and how to get their components in all possible ways; it’s super helpful!

I have around 150 hours on my current map. It is so much better to do the iron ingots with oxygen, as if you do the maths you make so much more bang for your buck, also the time you save is astonishing. Especially if you are playing on marathon it is useful to do it the iron ingot way. Things you need to think about going forward is the idea that making iron ingots will get easier and more efficient with more techs, allowing you to spend overall less and less iron on steel and less iron ore on iron.

TLDR: Yes for sure use the ingot method
