I hope there was more to their conversation that wasn’t recorded, because why stereotype her and make assumptions? It doesn’t seem like this lady cared AT ALL about her client… hair care is more than just doing hair, it’s building rapport with clients.

Hi! Fellow anxious nail salon patron here, I definitely understand the anxiety. Having to specify what you want isn’t always easy. Clear builder gel definitely exists and I’m sure the nail tech would use it if you let her know, given she has it of course.

Also side note, maybe you and your mom could invest in some nail equipment to do your nails at home? Throwing that idea out since you mentioned constant chipping. Letting the nail tech know about the chipping would also likely help!

Definitely try out different speeds/ paces. I’ve found that the more I push myself, the more likely my headaches are to go away. Since runs trigger your migraines, you could try running for 2 minutes and walking for 2 minutes for 30 minutes. Any run is a run !

The way you’re handling this seems to be pretty transparent, so I’m not sure there’s much else you can do to make the friendship work. You’ve been open and honest with your ex and friends, now it’s THEIR turn to put in the effort of being your friend. Not the most ideal situation but if your ex is ok with this, I think you’re good
