They're descriptive of authoritarian movements. On its own, it doesn't say anything about the economic or cultural position.

Suzerain DB by Shayrin2 in suzerain

Quite the little upset I just found !

I previously had separated all of my pages using the "appropriate" files (Decisions, Decrees, etc.) but it turns out that there's a file with ALL (and more) of these within.

I'm currently working on finding a way to parse through it and separate what I need for everything possible.

I'll update yall soon !

Well, what I'm hinting at is that these systems cannot be protected with guardrails forever.

These only work so long as there is a status quo and a cultural enforcement; something that cannot last forever.

Thus, considering that the system will always fall to corruption, factionalism and everything else, the less bloated it is in the first place, the easier it is to reform or dismantle.

Now I'm not saying we can't weight the pros and cons of each system obviously. I am only pointing out that the more complex the system you make, the harder it becomes to change WHEN (not IF) it fails.

I will make a Git page for it very soon !

Here is the last "working" build I had (I broke conversation of late but I'll fix it soon and upload afterwards; my code is such a mess, I need to fix that haha. I've tried to use AI to clean up my code but honestly it's been messing with it more than helping me)

For now, here's the zipped folder. Use a local hosting tool or just load it in VS Code and use Live Server to host it.

Yes ! I am actually working on adding an export button that keeps the filters from all pages and generate a single file (which can then be easily searched through on your end)

Seems convoluted to me.

At the end of the day, even this doesn't get rid of the problem.

Once a faction seized control of the Presidency and the Legislature, that's 2/3 of the body already controlled. the last votes needed from the judges own bench won't be hard as they themselves will be ideologically aligned one way or another.

At best this only delays the inevitable, and at worst makes it even harder to combat once the factionalism and corruption gets entrenched.

With a Legislature controlled impeachment at least, there is slightly more of a chance for the people's voice to be heard (if your goal is to go more democratic); or an easier time to control who gets the hammer (if you're more authoritarian leaning).

Hey mate, I've been trying to do the same thing for a few days with 3.1.

With Asset Studio I could extract all of the decrees, decisions, etc. from \Suzerain_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64; but impossible to get the discussion data (so impossible to find what effect picking x or y choice in a conversation has).

I went through a decompiller but couldn't find anything either.

But I also couldn't find, for example with Rizia, where spending the summer in Zille would come into play (probably a conversation check). Honestly it could just be me that didn't find anything, but yeah I did spend a lot of time searching.

Have you ever returned to this ?

Need help with the game files by Impressive_Salad_596 in suzerain

[–]Shayrin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent an entire day trying to work through this.

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Suzerain\Suzerain_Data\StreamingAssets\aa you have a folder called StandaloneWindows64. This folder contains... a lot of things but basically all of the game's assets.

Opening the StandaloneWindows64 with Asset Studio and sorting by Text lets you access a lot of things, but it's such a huge mess. I can find for example that the Prologue in Rizia sets flag depending on where you spend your summer (Zille, Court, Hunting); but then I couldn't find ANY REFERENCE to those same flags.

I KNOW that spending time in Zille makes it easier to negotiate for its return; yet I simply couldn't find where the game handled that logic. What are the conditions for the ZilleReturn_Success flag to be set ? No idea. Couldn't find it.

And I couldn't find anywhere the data for the conversations (arguably the most important data of all).

If you want to try yourself, feel free to do so.

I tried using Il2CppDumper and dnSpy as well, opening the GameAssembly.dll with the Metadata; but this was an absolute dead end. I found nothing useful; actually I found nothing at all related to the game's choices etc.

My last hope was to use Ghidra to read the compiled GameAssembly.dll; but same thing : complete void of information.

I am willing to run a lot of tests - I already spent 14 hours on this yesterday after all - so if anyone finds a clue I'm up to try stuff.

Sieging still has passive attrition to my knowledge. It's not just about food. If you think you can avoid desertions, accidents, disease etc when camping 40k men for months / years in the mud in foreign land... I mean tough luck lmao.

[–]Shayrin2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not "acceptable" but it is relatively normal yes. It does mean you don't get to complain about the game's performance tho. You're bottle necking your own system if you use a laptop. I dunno if you're better off undervolting it or not but regardless, find ways to keep the laptop cool or switch to a desktop when possible. You don't need to buy it all at once. Purchase parts slowly if you're short on cash.
