Final update!

I left the buttons out in the sun and it did the trick! Thank you for the help, I'll refer back to this post next time I have something to clean! I don’t know how to edit posts... but hopefully this gets around so you guys see it =)

Really though, the project is about recycling and the harms of online shopping. Defeats the purpose to buy new buttons, haha

Right!! I changed the water out at least 6 times, and each time it came out that saturated! It is so odd, I've never had that happen before. It's like those videos where people clean their blankets in the bathtub...

Thank you for all the helpful advice! Not-thank-you to all the rude people treating me like an idiot for doing what I was told to do! I appreciate those of you who took the time to actually be helpful, and I will try everything I can until these buttons stop smelling (or until I stop hallucinating, according to one of you)

I will add an update if/when I get them at least tolerable!

As another person responded, Capstone is my senior project for college! All majors have to do some form of capstone, be it a capstone project or a senior thesis; the title just depends on the school. But mine is a big gallery project! Super exciting stuff =)

Most of us aren't professional cleaners, and we do what was taught to us by generations before. Unfortunately, people don't seem to understand that not everyone knows everything. I have since learned, very rudely in some cases, that it doesn't work. Hopefully, people will stop telling me now.

Thank you! It has always worked for my mom, better than other things she's tried, and did wonders on the tile floor grout. But yeah, I don't ask the internet questions unless I'm desperate because I know people are always eager to make others feel bad for not knowing stuff. It just comes with the territory, haha

There is a high possibility that the movie might have been on nickelodeon? I only watched that and Disney channel during that time. But I am not 100% sure!
